Musings from the Moon

Thank you for letting me post here. My brother hasn’t come out of a coma. They’ve been using EEG to “look” at the brain. I’m not sure how they know he’s not out of a coma because they are sedating him to make the ventilator less uncomfortable. He’s developed some kind of wetness in the lung that they operated on and it was making it difficult for him to come off the vent after his surgeries. I really don’t understand the mechanics of all of these things but I know my mom is a mess. I know she got online to e-mail family last night but I don’t think she went to sleep last night and today she won’t leave the hospital. On the positive side, my aunts are here. That will help my mom. My other brother came in this morning with his fiance so the gang is all here. Mom’s e-mail had offers of food and money. Really, we are okay. My dad’s insurance still covers Jason. The incidentals have been manageable. Even with the dislocation of our immediate family, we are close to extended family. There are people who are less fortunate than us even now and we know this. Prayers are plenty. I do thank everyone for the offers. -William
