It is interesting to note that blogging about this despicable duo has been making a difference. They have had a lot of interesting press recently – this is the latest:
Pennsylvania parents, Jon and Kate Gosselin, stir controversy

Pennsylvania natives and residents, Jon and Kate Gosselin, have made quite a name for themselves over the past two years. The pair, parents of a set of twins and a set of sextuplets, are the stars of the top-rated TLC program, Jon and Kate Plus 8. The show is in its fourth season and while the program has a huge following, a quick survey of internet message boards and blogs will reveal that there are many who disagree with Jon and Kate Gosselin’s decision to let their children’s lives play out on camera.
Neither Jon nor Kate are currently employed. They reportedly earn their income from the show, public speaking appearances, and have recently published a book, “Multiple Blessings.” Kate has been quoted as saying,”Our life is our show. Our show is our life.” The Gosselins have even shared on their program that they have professional lighting installed throughout their central Pennsylvania home so that the home is better equipped for filming.
The blogosphere has recently been buzzing, reporting that the couple has moved from their modest home in Lancaster County and purchased a multi million dollar house in neighboring Berks County.
Many critics say that the parents are exploiting their children for financial gain and fear that their decision to allow their children to grow up with the world watching will lend to serious consequences in the future. Some others support Jon and Kate’s decision to participate in the show, believing that it is providing the children with two stay-at-home parents and financial stability.
Paul Peterson, ex-child star and founder of the non-profit organization, A Minor Consideration, an organization providing support to child stars in crisis, has been one of the most vocal in the debate. He believes that the children are being overworked and exploited. Peterson even made an appearance on CNN stating, “Children need secrets. They need silences. They don’t need to live in a fishbowl.”
Great! More press the better.
They need to AT LEAST stop asking for “love offerings”.

I don’t feel that they will. Quite frankly, I feel that Kate Gosselins truly believes that she (and they) are above reproach.
I do not feel that she is stable in any way, shape of form.
Glad someone there is writing some part of the truth–
Kate will never admit any wrong doing–Everyone is out of step except her–
Consider, she cut the kids grparents out -Then supposedly everyone else that she felt challenged her – Do you remember her saying to Jon,”Stand with me or stand against me”?–No gray areas here–Concrete thinking, she doesn’t comprehend abstract thinking-
She has whatever because she deserves it, plain & simple–
I haven’t noticed & I try not to watch thiis show–Does she ever say to her kids, Thank You or I’m sorry? I say these words constantly to a 4 & 1 year old–
Jon doesn’t get a pass either–He’s as much to blame as Kate–I feel he’s hitched a ride on the money train–Jon isn’t walking until he’s kicked to the curb–

I’ve been thinking. If j&K had half a brain betwixt them, THEY would approach their district legislator and see about getting some laws passed to protect children working on reality shows in PA.
It would go alot further to service their cause then some of the dopey things they are doing now!

A reader emailed me to let me know as well. It is sad, albeit a bit amusing, that grown women are still stuck in playing high school games.
I always wonder what type of parents they are to their children when they act so immaturely. Perhaps they are those parents we see on CNN, and subsequently YouTube, that drive their children to the park to fight another child and cheer them on while doing so.
One this is for sure, I highly doubt that they are teaching their children about ethics, morals and above all, courage, since it is something that they do not practice in their own lives.
Personally, I think those of us that are supposedly “jealous” NEED to keep talking about the exploitation because we NEED for news organizations to pick it up! If we all kept our feeling to ourselves there would be nothing to report.
My daughter is so “jealous” that I didn’t take pictures of her first poo back in the day. Actually, I just asked her (she’s 9) what she would think if I took a picture of her first poop in the potty. Her answer was, “I’d think it was time for you to be on some medication.”

LOL on the last paragraph! Too funny and a very bright kid!
What I am wondering is what fans are supporting the fact that the kids have two stay at home parents because of the show……..Last show I saw, Kate was still saying the show allowed her to be home with the kids while Jon went to work………….Jon goes to work and makes money, and my job is to save money! Plus they are not admitting that they are rolling in money, they are still pretending to be broke and struggling and accepting money from people worse off than themselves who want to help the adorable TUPS! I honestly cannot believe there are still fans of this show! My sister and I fight about it all the time, she loves the show still, and is not willing to listen to any points I make about it… Basically we now agree to disagree!
I always thought since DH went to work to make money-It was up to me to spend it–I believe DH thinks the same, I’m continually congratulated on the excellent job I’ve done–(Once again I’ve refrained from using exclamation marks)-

Also, these idiots who argue the whole “THEY HAV 2 STAY AT HM PARNTZ LOL THTZ GR8 4 THA KIDZ LOL!!!!!111″ angle don’t factor in that these kids need someone to set an example for their future.
Why would Mady and Cara or any of the little kids care about going to college in pursuit of a career when they see their parents sitting around all day, going on vacations, and then cashing checks for doing nothing?
I would argue that having two stay at home parents is a TERRIBLE thing for kids in that respect. At one point or another, as kids grow up and start to get to make their own choices, even children who are technically adults at 18 or older, very often look to what they remember their parents doing and deciding in the same situation. They look to their parents for guidance like all children.
What do you think J&K’s kids are learning by seeing two parents who act like they are entitled to a low seven-figure salary for doing absolutely nothing? When you don’t see at least one of your parents go to work everyday, and then you see that they live comfortably anyway, I would think that would make the kids likely to look for EVERY scheme and scam possible to get out of having work for a living. This is often the mindset of people who end up homeless and perpetually broke. Just another great side-effect of what could happen as a result of J&K’s reckless and exploitative parenting.

Oh geez, Kate wants Jon to start an online training class for husbands, according to that article. What’s he going to train them to do? Sit in closet all day with his computer searching for blogs about his litters and getting new email addys so he can respond with new names? He’s so productive and so is his wife. I think the Gosselin ISP now stands for “I’m so poor.”
I’m wondering if they are going to try to set up webcams in the house to make even more money off the kids, talk to them live! And the people that commented on the article about Microsoft, most sound like they are on the same level as J&K…ick I think I threw up a little in my mouth..

I love how you keep on it/them – don’t ever stop!
As for wondering “if the mother ever says ‘thank you’ or ‘I’m sorry’…” to those eight children, the answer was “NO!” until recently. The people at GWoP had a lengthy discussion on that very subject and then voila! – the very next show after the posts could have been read included an occasional “thank you” from the children. Of course the mother has never, and probably won’t ever, utter a peep of an “I’m sorry” – she’s simply NOT.
She is not sorry for anything and I can hear it now; when the kids are older and she’s refusing to pay mounting therapists’ bills: “I am NOT sorry for working my fingers to the bone to get you the #1 reality show when you were a kid…I am NOT sorry for buying ? you the best toys made back then…I am NOT sorry for providing the best kid-label clothes for you and your sister…NOT sorry I took you to Hawaii…hired the best organic cook…called the best baby-sitters…found the finest orthodontist…plastic surgeon…biggest house…best private school…most expensive furniture…your own private bathroom…I am NOT SORRY for ANYTHING YOU HAD A GREAT LIFE and I’m so exhauuuuuusted now…what? What’s that? What?”

I am not going to let up on Jon and Kate. Between the hiding behind their supposed Christianity, their staged mockery of vows and the staged “giving back”, it is “over teh edge” for me.
These two are despicable money grubbing, child exploiting swines.
