The Top 10 Things I Love About You! (a/k/a Happy 2nd Anniversary Honey!)
Dec 30th, 2008 by BohemianMoon

10 ~ That damn Scottish accent (it is so very hard to stay annoyed at a Scottish accent).
9~ Those crystal blue eyes (it is even harder to stay annoyed at those crystal blue eyes).
8~ That dry and wry British (OMG! Did I just say BRITISH!?!) humor.
7~Your love of antiquing (and I don’t mean me
)
6~ Your incredible brilliance at just about everything except handyman duties and setting the doggie gate (repeat after me: “it is the number 36 slot, it is the number 36 slot, it is the number 36………………….)
5~Being the barista to beat any barista (particularly for this “Oh-I-am-not-by-any-stretch-of-the imagination-a-morning-person, person) and always with (ok most of the time), a smile.
4~ Your work ethic and ambition even if I have to bribe you with the aforementioned antiquing and a meal at Eric’s to get you to take a break!
3~The love you have for the no-longer-an-adolescent-unit and the care that you have taken to be a true mentor and friend to him as well as the unadulterated love, care and compassion that you have for our fur babies (and no, you still cannot have a pot bellied pig).
2~Allowing me the time and resources to pursue my dreams ~ it is such an incredible and selfless gift.
1~For living your vows on a daily basis and continuing, as you always have, to treat me like a goddess (yes, the goddess I am
~)
I love you madly and more with every minute that passes.
Gaol Suthainn anam cara!

How sweet!
You are very lucky to have found a good man!
(and he’s just as lucky to have found you!!)
I love when couples “give me hope”.
Congrats!!!

Awww thanks! It only took me 14.5 years, lol. It was, however, certainly worth the wait.

Wishing you both a very Happy Anniversary!
Oh happy day! What a lucky woman (and man) you are to have found each other at a time in your lives when you have your sh.. together… when true love and honest-to-goodness-happiness are possible and life-long-lasting!
CONGRATULATIONS and best wishes for 1,000 more!!!
Awww, Happy Anniversary! Love seeing the Gaelic, too!
Bless you Moon,
Your list includes things about your husband that you both love and appreciate. All too often we forget to tell our husbands how much we really do appreciate them. And I know what you mean about those crystal blue eyes. It is hard to stay annoyed at someone who has them.
Conrats!!! Here’s to many, many more years together.
PS-What a great photo!
#2 Tanya~
Thanks, and thanks!
Lisa~

)
Joanne~
Damn, I upgraded to a new version of Wordpress and all of the numbering is skewed………..
However, thank you! I am definitely more on the handy side, but man when it comes to theology or medieval history, hubs wins hands down
abby~
Nice blog! It is the first time that I have been there, thanks for leaving me the link!
Your hubs and wee ones are gorgeous
Oh, and about the unconditional love thing? Yep, that is what it is all about!
Nicole~
Thanks! It nice and there was lobster and tiramasu (sp?) involved among other things!
Alana~
Thank you! We did find each other at a time in each of our respective lives when while neither was looking, the time was definitely right. He is my best friend.
Suzanne!
Thanks! Gaol Suthainn (love eternal, love ever lasting) was our wedding “quote”. We also had a relatively traditional Scottish wedding. It was a beautiful night
CaliforniaChris~
Thanks!
Many more years and a retirement to Ireland and/or Scotland is in the plan!
Lisa!~
Thank ya ma’am!
What a gorgeous picture and such beautiful sentiments. Wishing you many, many more loving years.
GingerRose~
Awwww, thanks! Hubs and son looked so handsome that night in kilts made of Hubs clan tartan. He presented son with a dirk (Scottish dagger) to welcome him to the clan, and a silk sash in our clan tartan, to welcome me. It was a beautiful night ceremony/reception with bagpipes (our priest played them) at the processional and recessional and lots of Celtic music not to mention Bowmore Scotch!
A good time had by all:)
Awww, you look so cute together, you lucky girl. Love the scots and their accent. Aren’t you both just a picture? Your wedding sounds just beautiful and to be able to write what you did about your husband after these 14 years is a testament to the fact that love is and can be real. God Bless.
Virginia~
Thanks! But we haven’t been married for 14 years, just two
We met online in December of 2004. In March of 2005 he came over from Scotland to meet me in person and stayed two weeks. He came back that summer and stayed three months! We were lucky in the fact that he has his own business which is primarily conducted via online and phone, so he was able to stay the time allotted by the Visa Waiver Program. That winter holiday, once my son and I both broke from school, my hubs brought us to Scotland for a month. Soon after he proposed and we continued our very long distance relationship, with him coming over for extended stays as allowed by the Visa Waiver Program, until the latter of 2006 when we were married. We moved from South Florida at the top of the summer of 2007 and here we stay in our historic money pit. Immigration was no fun and I am presently working on filing all paper work to lift the two year restriction that is placed on all legal Permanent Residents. Then he will get his 10 year green card which, btw, is not green.
I waited 14.5 years for this type of relationship. When we met, neither was really looking for anything. We clicked incredibly though and were in love and made a commitment by the end of his first visit. Love comes when you least expect it, in the craziest of ways sometimes!
Oh, Moon, happy anniversary! How lovely you two found each other.
xoxox,
you know who
Moon,
On the 1st day of this new year
I’m sending you both best wishes
Blessings for your family
A house filled with joy
Love never ending
Just catching up on your blog – congrats, and what a GREAT picture!! And such sweet sentiments!
I pictured your DH differently – the picture posted with the “walrus fang straws” under “who is Bohemian Moon” – is that also him – with shorter hair?
No matter – what a beautiful couple you two are!!
#26 IMHO~
Thanks
That is my son in the “walrus fang” picture. It was taken at a Parents Weekend at his first university a year and a half ago.
Oops! I’m caught! I just read that original thread, and in it you do say it’s your son. I’m all red
So – you young lookin hot chic- don’t tell your son I thought he was the Mr!!
He’s changed so much!! All that glorious hair and now the glasses! Handsome either way!
I can’t believe it’s been 2 yrs!!! As I was lucky enough to attend I can attest to the fact that your wedding was AMAZING!! The fragrance of the flowers in the room was indiscribable(sp?) your dress, shoes, hair,………your mother……..(lol)
I am SO happy you both have finally found you nitch and someone to share it with on this journey we all are on.
crazymum~
YO! (BIATCH, lol) I cannot believe you are here at Musings! You made me smile and yes, Mum was oh so much fun, wasn’t she? It never ends with them, does it? God loves her though. She spent a good amount of time up here last year, as you know, and she was a lot of fun, as she can be (something else you know)!
The flowers were something else, weren’t they? I loved them!
SO WHEN ARE YOU COMING UP?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
What is going on with the BOYZ? And Hubs?
It is too funny you are on my blog, lol. I didn’t expect it. I bitch about the Gosselin children exploitation and Casey Anthony among other things, lol. Join in, it should be fun!
But more in importantly get thy butt up here and freeze with me, k?
