After lots of planning and preparation, the Gosselin clan finally packs up and moves to a more spacious home. Jon and Kate say goodbye to the house where their children spent most of their young lives, and the family embarks on a new chapter of life.

Do you ever do anything stupid, like say, go over to a Gosselin Love site. I’m so sick to my stomach reading what those “believers” think.
I hope they all get the pleasure of meeting their false idol someday. They “deserve” to be treated to her special type of kindness. They put the “Y” in “yahoos” and the ignorance is just mind blowing!! I know, I shouldn’t have gone there . . . I need to calm down and read some intelligent musings from our little family over here.
Can’t wait until Kate shows Jon his room…over the garage!

I can’t wait to read your recap. Your recaps are always 100% better than the show.
I have a gut feeling, that this episode is going to be just more of Kate being mean to Jon and the kids. Kate is so cold and uncaring. I sure hope that Mady is not seen very much. That sweet child needs an intervention, and ASAP.
Let me guess about what the show will be like:
KAte will be exhaustified by all the work that needs to be done, and will therefore be on Jon’s case for not asking her how he can help her.
Cut to the kids running around and screaming, and for good measure they’ll put in a shot of Mady misbehaving and Kate blaming on blood sugar.
What you won’t see are the people who are actually packing and moving this household.
Cut to the couch where Queenie will tell all how horrendously horrendous it is to do all that work and take care of 8 – did you know they have 8? – kids. All have low blood sugar issues, too.
Please place my bet on first Meltdown at 2min 45 secs into the show.

And since we know they have help (read: nanny), can someone tell me why that person wasn’t watching the kids last week if Kate needed to clean that fridge? Which leads me to the meltdown this week that Joanne has pegged: Is said meltdown necessary or is it good TV?
Because if the parents can prevent any meltdowns with good parenting techniques like a caregiver who engages and supervises the kids while a parent is busy, why wouldn’t they choose to do so?
No, class, don’t everyone answer at once. I know this is a “gimme” question!

OH! I forgot it was on tonight. I can’t wait to see what Kate has to clean this time. Or maybe, if we’re lucky, she’ll show us how to put designer hand bags into cardboard cartons! There might be 15 minutes devoted to the finding and use of organic packaging tape or..dare I hope?..toothpicks digging in bathroom tile grouting! Oh, I am beside myself with anticipated glee as Kate completes her monumental tasks with 8 (count ‘em, 8!!) surly pesky kiddies underfoot! Super mom will be exhausted and who can blame her!? Why, I’d bet Kate will be asleep tonight before her pointy head hits her 15,000 thread count Egyptian cotton pillow case. And someone will poop. Tee hee! Golly, who pooped? Sniff it out Kate.

For one, they want it to look like they have little help again, even though Jon Boy stated in Utah that they have a helper 4-6 (!) hours a day. Perhaps said helper was outside with the other kids while Kate lost the ones inside – someone had to watch them outside while Jon took care of the toileting needs of the children because, you know, their mother rather deal with (non-existent) mold rather than deal with her children full stop. TLC do want controversy which is, IMO more insidious than if they did not promote this.

I do apologize but the three prizes listed are the only being offered by Musings. I do hear though, the Queen of Cutting on the Diagonal is coming out with a (how not to cook) cookbook herself. Perhaps after a healthy love offering or two, she will allow you to buy it. If it doesn’t have her recipe for organic old grandma soup, fret not. By the end you will know, without a doubt, how to place a second piece of bread on a sandwich and at LEAST three variations on how to cut the bread.

Last night I was thinking..there is obvoiusly a lot of product placement that goes on during J&K+8, but do you ever think it will get to the point where any of the kids will actually be in a commerical? In that case they would actually be working and there would be laws, etc in place. I hope that never happens, because that would be crossing the line, but it wouldn’t shock me.

I have written about this very thing – commercials. No they will not. To do so they would have to join the Union (AFTRA). If that happened, J&K would have to become a union show or J&K and the kids could not appear per union rules. So their choice would be do commercials and not the show, or the show and not commercials. THe show is not going to go union, and without the show no one would use them in commercials. That is why you see the product placement within the show and Kate not doing any TV commercials for her stint with Kmart. Obviously commercials would reach a much larger audience, but they can’t because of the union issues.
Oh, oh, I want to place my bet. The first meltdown will occur 2 min and 30 sec into the show. It will be either Kate, Mady or Alexis. I want the Brussel Sprouts. They are my favorite vegie.
When are the people at the Gosselin Love Site going to see Kate for what she really is? I usually don’t go there, but I get curious to see what the “groupies” are saying. Anyone that idolizes Kate needs to have their head examed. The comments are just unreal.

She is not going to get any deal from Oprah or GMA, IMO.
She will be lucky if she gets anything from a tabloid, which brings us back to the point of how she is going to support 14 children. This entire thing is a sad mess, and much of it has to do with the glorification of high order multiples via the media.
I loved the 3rd comment-just ignore her and she’ll go away! So perfect and so true!
I’ve read several articles about Kate lately (I think one was a link from here) and to read some of the comments is astounding. However, the negative seems to be outweighing the positive. I tenatively believe that this latest mom of HOM will be detrimental to Kate. It doesn’t help (at all!) that they are airing the footage of their new million-dollar home at the same time as all the public outcry and disgust of this new mother seeking fame and fortune. I don’t see how this can be anything but bad for Kate, the ultimate poster-child for “see how good you can have it if only you have lots of babies!”
I am saddened to see a few comments from teens saying they hope to take fertility drugs for HOM like Kate and become rich and famous. I’m not convinced that these are even real people posting those comments, but trolls trying to stir up controversy. If they are actually young girls looking up to Kate and wanting the fame from babies, it’s scary! We live in a celebrity-obsessed culture and it’s sickening how people might see this as her way in. I predict that it will ultimately bite this new mom of 8 (or 14!) as well as Kate in the ass!

Inre: to the postings on the one article thread – ABC News perhaps? – I too read those comments and my intuition screamed “troll”. That said, there IS a great deal of forums, etc, wherein women are buying chlomid and other fertility drugs online in hopes of having multiples. There are also a great deal of forums/groups (just look on Facebook) wherein high order multiples and Jon and Kate Plus Eight are “worshiped” by tweens, teenagers and young college women who think it is just “awesome” (there is a Kate word, lol) and would be “awesome” to have a large family just like Kate and Jon. They are not of the cognizant maturity to really understand the ramifications, financially, physically, socially and emotionally of HOM. They are too immature to look past all the “glam and glory” to understand what it truly takes to raise emotionally and physically healthy kids and they seem to totally skip past the part that HOM children oftentimes have medical issues their entire lives. They are blinded by all of the materialism and are too immature to see the entire – and REAL-picture.
I too feel that this case with Octup mom has opened eyes and person’s who may not of known about Jon and Kate Plus Eight, will now, and not in a good light. Tam just posted a link to Fox News with an interview of a fertility specialist. At the very end of the interview, he drives home the disturbing point of the glorification of HOM and getting a reality show out of it. In other words, HOM for “fun and profit”.

Well, unless it is in two of my groups at Cafe Mom, both of which are debate groups, and both of which are equally represented and moderated very fairly, IMO. Also, neither of those groups will ever be named by a specific name, just Cafe Mom.
I do hope that you understand and please know that this is not me pointing a finger at you. I have been saying this for a long time now, and my sentiment will not change on this issue.

Re: Young women wanting “large families”-In a way, that scares me because they are only seeing a small fraction of her life and it’s by no means great; However, in *most* relationships, barring this recent octuplet mom-it takes two people to have the babies and I’m betting that most males wouldn’t dream of rolling over ala Jon and letting their wives pursue HOM.
I’m telling you, this who new CA mom will come back to bite Kate. I literally laugh as she does these interviews being the voice of wisdom and reason. These interviews are leading her into the mainstream public spotlight and it will ultimately be her downfall. 1 million + TLC fans don’t equal shit when it comes to the taxpaying public. Most have the same views as her PA neighbors and will feel disgusted that she has and continues to use them for money.

Chrissy, me too…I’ve never seen a coupon for a hardward store even in the Sunday flyer, that whole scene was staged and K&J couldn’t keep from smiling.

I know it would be difficult to have a “nice” house while you have so many small kids running around, but deliver me from a home as barren as the Gosselins’. The only things on the walls are pictures of themselves?
This new house calls for a lot of furniture on a large scale. The color scheme left behind is opposite of anything we saw at the old house. And nothing I’ve seen so far leads me to think Kate or Jon has the taste to create a warm, comfortable home. My money is on a professional decorator, which should make for some good episodes.
Do they make chocolate-covered Peeps? I think those sound WONDERFUL.
I figured it out. They bought the 1.3m house with all the money they’ve saved using coupons and having Jon pack them and do all the handyman work.
Haggis is what I want to name the next cat I get. Really.

Was on the Wernersville Forum (Topix) site. Seems ‘good Christian’ Jon has been hitting the bar scene in Berks where young teachers hang out. If true, what a joke. Ohhh Jonnnnn you’re just toooooo coooool. NOT! Maybe he thinks he can absorb brains by osmosis. Sorry Jon. That’s not the way it works.

I seriously doubt ‘decorator Kate’ would know the first thing about that. It had to be new. The 4 pictures taped to the $$$$ fridge is tacky as fuck. (curious-did SHE have a coupon for the fridge?) I’m all for kid’s artwork but, for shit’s sake, get a bulletin board-I’m sure there’s PLENTY of wall space in the Pimp Palace. Was this a ‘diversionary tactic’ or an attempt to ‘draw the eye’ to the new fridge.
As far as the ‘coupon’ for the shower head, we occasionally get Lowe’s ‘Project Starter’ coupons-$10 off $50, $25 off $250. Not defending the bitch, but, that’s the only ’shower head’ coupon I can think of. I don’t know about any of you, but when we do shit around our house, we are at Lowe’s and Home Depot ALL THE TIME sometimes up to 3-4 times A DAY. I’m SURE the coupon coulda been used at another time seeing as new houses ALWAYS need something. You stupid bitch.
That was one clusterfuck of an UNORGANIZED move was it not? I thought she was an ‘expert’ at organization. Guess not.
