As The Reasonable Doubt Tour Begins, George and Cindy Anthony Find Themselves With One Less Stop

Unfortunately for them, it would have probably proved to be one of their most important. However, like everything else regarding their daughter Casey, who has been indicted in the murder of her two year old Caylee, they blew it.
In a last ditch effort to create reasonable doubt in the “world wide” jury pool, George and Cindy Anthony had started to schedule TV interviews to perpetuate the “Zanny the Nanny” theory regarding the disappearance and subsequent murder of Little Caylee. This, coming on the heels of their videotape depositions in the civil lawsuit wherein both Cindy and George not only became increasingly hostile and uncooperative, they also managed to contradict themselves and each other when compared to their statements made to law enforcement during their numerous interviews at the onslaught of the investigation.
There first stop WAS to be Oprah, except Oprah thought that their tour was to begin and end with her. Today, when she found out that the Anthonys will be on the CBS Early Morning Show tomorrow and Wednesday, Oprah took her 8.5 million daily viewers and “went home”. It is just as well from my point of view as I think Oprah would be about inquisitive as was Larry King. This very thing, however, could have been the Anthony’s ace in the hole, or at least a king, in the quest to create reasonable doubt surrounding Casey as she is now facing the death penalty.
It was my hope when I first heard the blurb regarding the cancellation, that it was some altruism on Oprah’s part. Like maybe she grew some ethics and decided not to further exploit a two year old murdered child. As you have seen, however, that isn’t the case. Oprah, faced with the possibility of sharing (in more of ) the Anthony’s spin with others shows/networks, pulled the plug. Screw the child, it is the ratings that count.
Thanks, Moon, for the update on this. I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time to watch TV and see what’s been going on with this case. So the Anthony’s are hitting the talk show circuit…. From the way I’ve seen them present themselves in other interviews, as well as the deposition, they don’t appear credible to me and I can’t see them raising the reasonable doubt level much above ankle deep. I guess, as the lying bitch’s role models/parents, they think they better do this.

Cindy is a narcissist as is Casey. Cindy feels that people will believe them and it doesn’t even phase her that she and her daughter are two of the most loathed women in the US presently and no one believes that Casey is innocent. They will throw anyone and everyone under the bus to enable Casey an acquittal. It doesn’t matter whose lives they ruin further – I swear they are like the mob. Anyone in the family can murder another family member but they will defend them to anyone outside of the family until hell freezes over. Unfortunately this family member was an innocent 2 year old toddler.
Thanks for this, Moon. These sickos are disgusting. First, Caylee suffered the ultimate injustice of being murdered by her mother, and now, she’s suffering injustice again at the hands of her grandparents, who refuse to hold her murderer accountable!
I’m not surrpised about Oprah, though, as she’s all about moolah. She allows TLC to exploit the Gosselin kids (and mutliples from other families, too), and now, this. Heaven forbid Oprah do the right thing for the right reasons.

I have heard that BIG O’S viewership has been consistently shrinking in the last year or so, as well as Dr. Shrills’.
How sad that, instead of just retiring when your audience has moved on, BIG O chooses to get in bed with child exploiters and murderers. I guess that’s what you do when you’re absent a life other than your t.v. show. At least not a life with any meaning for her. And with all her millions? How sad, really.
A little off topic: WHAT was with Nancy Grace and the psychologist, Dr. Lillian Glass, today? I kept hoping for a sign that it was Nancy’s usual sarcasm in the way she kept drilling her on her use of the term “narcissistic” and then demanding proof that Cindy Anthony had acted in any way but totally “unselfish.” Nancy doesn’t EVER treat psychologist Dr. Bethanny Marshal like that. I got the impression Nancy just doesn’t like her. It was VERY strange and I don’t recall Nancy ever treating Dr. Glass like that before.

I was so appalled by the Larry King interview they did back in December (prior to Caylee’s body being discovered) that I don’t know if I can stomach watching another interview with them. They lie and contradict statements they made before. It’s insulting to the audience and disgraceful to Caylee’s memory.
I wouldn’t wish their situation on anyone. On the other hand, they’ve certainly made it clear what their priority is.
There are striking similarities that the parents have with Casey. All three use people (or the media) when it is convenient for them but blame the people/outlet they used when things go sour. If Casey is convicted, it will be Nancy Grace’s fault. I can tell from afar that Casey has never had to take responsibility for anything in her life. The parents probably blamed the teachers when Casey got in trouble at school. It’s sick and twisted and look at the result.
Thanks Moon, for updating us. I am appalled that these two are doing this. It will, if anything hurt the case because these two come across as the sketchiest of the sketchy crowd.
Nothing they can say or do at this point will be able to turn the tide of horror and anger at what happened to their beautiful and innocent grandchild. They will become more dispised for attempting to create reasonable doubt for their murderous daughter.
Nothing Oprah does surprises me any longer. Money has become her god, ruler and motivation…Sad really, she could have accomplished so much.

Thanks for keeping us all posted on this situation. I have been out of the loop on this and I appreciate your updates! While the Anthony’s and their evil sociopath of a daughter turn my stomach, Oprah is equally vile and revolting. As you have said time and time again, this BITCH is nothing more than an Attention Whore and will do whatever it takes to make herself look good and ensure that it is ALWAYS ABOUT HER and her ratings. She disgusts me. She is no better than the Anthony’s, the Greedslin’s and the other trash she panders to. She too needs to go away for a very long time – she has nothing meaningful to contribute anymore because the sole purpose of her existence has become pure self-promotion.

But I don’t think she cancelled the maniacs because of her childhood trauma. It is raitings Oprah is after, she doesn’t want to be the second in line. Or maybe Oprah just realizes how nuts these two are and how the entire country is against them for their looney tune antics. Maybe geriatric Mr. Suspenders Larry King will have them on. I remember when the nut cases were on Larry’s show the same day Caylee’s remains were found. Larry asked George questions about Casey, and George could not look him in the eye, just kept his eyes down. That told me the whole story right there.
I am one of those people that believe that George & Cindy are somehow involved with little Caylee’s murder. I believe that they knew ahead of time that Casey killed Caylee and from then on, they covered up and protected Casey. They are just as guilty or even more for Caylee’s death and they should be charged as well. I also believe that Casey’s brother Lee hepled Casey dispose of the body or moved it for Casey. This entire family needs to be in prison. Little Caylee’s murder is seen as a speed bump for this family and I believe that they all love Casey more than Caylee just by the way they have been acting this entire time.
I do not care how much the Anthony’s claim that they loved Caylee, they did not protect her from her mother before or after her murder. They are a disgrace to themselves and truly disgust me.

I would agree. Like with the Gosselin puppies, people started to care about exploitation when there was a defenseless animal involved. I guess Oprah, not being a mother herself, can’t quite figure out that a two year old toddler is defenseless. As I stated, with her it is all about ratings.

I am flabbergasted that their attorney is allowing this as they will be bound by whatever they say. They out and out lied in their depositions and were hostile. I do not hope for better when Cindy is on the stand at trial. She is going to loose it.
Florida’s discovery laws are obviously liberal. Knowing this, they should have locked themselves away in their home and kept their mouth shut if they really wanted to help their daughter. Perhaps we will be hearing soon that Brad Conway too has left their “employ”, just like Nejame. Cindy is a narcissist that will listen to no one and will do whatever she wants whenever she wants. Clearly the apple doesn’t fall from the tree in that family.

I can’t believe they could become any more despised in the eyes of America. They are doing more damage than good, particularly coming on the heels of their depositions in the civil case. As case, BTW, in which their daughter and her hack attorney STILL have a countersuit against Ms. Gonzalez. It is totally unbelievable. As horrific as it is, the psychology of the players is fascinating.

I was hoping that their loony tune antics were why she canceled the show when I first saw the blurb, but that was not the case. I also don’t think that Oprah’s interview, if it went forward, would be hard hitting. Larry King certainly wimped out. Regardless, Oprah has never been Barbara Walters, nor will she ever be. Now that is an interview I would like to see. Barbara and Cindy. Let the sparks fly!

As I have said from the beginning, one I always felt that Casey did it, and two, I always felt and still do that George and Cindy are covering. I do not feel that they had any part in the murder itself and did not know of it until Cindy called 911. I feel that they had a good idea then, and by the time Casey was arrested the first time, they knew for sure. The same for Lee.
I don’t feel that they are going to come out of this unscathed. Cindy is going to trip herself up and loose it completely and I believe the same for Lee. If we thought this case was crazy now, wait. I feel we haven’t even seen the “worst” of it yet (the worst has obviously already happened with the murder of little Caylee).

I have been sitting here mulling over what you said about Barbara Walters interviewing Cindy Anthony. When I watch “The View” I think how Barbara has lost her edge, but then that’s her show and she has to keep the peace. Barbara still has the means to go in for the kill. Barbara is still sharp as a tack. As in “how are you two doing since your grandchild was murdered?” Then the zap! “Do you think your daughter killed Caylee?” Barbara will certainly not ask Cindy and George if they hugged trees! Cindy speaking in a low and tender voice about Casey. What a difference from her gum chewing, despicable behavior at her deposition. According to bounty hunter Leonard Padilla who bailed out Casey for ten days, Casey exhibited no concern for her lost child. Does the fruit not fall far from the tree?
And WTF about Haileigh Cummings in Florida. I might have the spelling wrong, but this child has been missing since February! Two parents who are admitted drug users and this precious angel is still missing! Nancy Grace was all over this at the beginning and now nothing! What is going on here?

They just may before this is all over, but again, if not on this earth plane, than another. You know, that whole free will thing – we were given it, but it will be judged. Perhaps not in the way that many people think (depends on what one believes), but we will be and will have to face the outcome/aftermath of the choices that we make, IMO.

Well Baez who has made many, many mistakes will soon be third chair, if that, since he is not qualified to try a death case, or even sit as second chair due to lack of experience. The Cindy and George’s first attorney, Nejame, got out as soon as he could after he realized that Cindy is not playing with a full deck either and had no intention of listening to his counsel. Now their new counsel, Conway, I don’t know. I thought that he had his shit together, but after the way that he allowed them to act in their civil case depo and now accompanying them on the “Reasonable Doubt” tour, I don’t know. One would think that he would be advising them better and if they chose not to listen, put in a Motion to Withdraw as Counsel, like Nejame. Unless, of course, he is in it for the fame as well, not unlike Baez.

Brad Conway, George and Cindy’s attorney has always been in a wheelchair. Their first attorney, Mark Nejame, withdrew as counsel in late October or early November of 2008, and they hired Brad Conway. I believe that Conway is in a wheelchair due to a spinal cord injury from a surfing accident. As an aside, in the deposition footage, did you see Cindy push him out of the way? GOOD LORD!
I agree in the major difference from the depo to the interview this morning is night and day, however, in this morning’s interview, the questions were pre-screened so they and their attorney knew what was coming and what they were going to answer and how they were going to spin it. In the depo and in the trial, their attorney can object to the question, but in the depo they are still required to answer it, and if they don’t, it will be brought before the judge and the judge will decide whether they are required to answer.

Unfortunately, like little Caylee, I feel that little Haleigh is no longer with us. I do hope and pray that I am wrong. I have felt from the beginning and still do that Misty has some explaining to do and it will all come tumbling out, much like the Anthony case, in due time. I can’t imagine he does. It makes no sense to me why he is allowing them to make fools of themselves on National TV. He should be protecting their best interests and that isn’t allowing them to interview and contradict themselves for the world to see, yet again.
I have seen all the other legal analysis on the different shows, and there isn’t one defense attorney that thinks that this is a good idea. As a matter of fact all are pretty much appalled. All agree that this will do more harm ultimately than good.

As such, any jurors will see the glaring contradictions and outright lies that both George and Cindy have made through this entire tragedy.
