As I stated a few times in various threads on Musings (Musings, with a singular s after the u and the g; plural for musing, meaning a product of contemplation or reflection) Matt Heckman skeeves me out. I did not know why exactly, other than my slimy vibe/BS meter went off the charts when I went to his site, all of the two times I could handle it.
Preesi posted a few reasons why I could be feeling the way I did, particularly since I could not find much about the guy online. As I stated previously, Matt Heckman seems to like to present himself (ineffectually I might add) as someone “in the know” regarding the State of Pennsylvania and tries to pass himself off as someone who is, perhaps, important in the state, politically or otherwise.
My intuition told me, and still does, that neither is true.
Apparently Matt Heckman had a wee bit of an issue with Preesi’s opinion, as evidenced below. My comments to Mr. Heckman are in bold. In addition, I will not be linking his site here. If one needs to go pay a visit, please Google his name and it will come up. As it stands, Musings comes up relatively quickly when one Googles his name which tells me as well that Mr. Heckman is just one more American citizen, hiding behind his computer screen, pretending to be important. Musings has a Google page rank of two, lol. If Musings from the Moon comes up early in a search for Mr. Heckman, I can guarantee that Mr. Heckman doesn’t have a hell of a lot going on as he is not listed on any major sites or sites of importance for the State of Pennsylvania as far as I can see.

Good LORD Mr. (word) Hackman Heckman, please, please, please try and proof your entries. Here is a little Word Press tip for you: If there is a red line underneath a word that you have just typed, it is spelled incorrectly. Now that is not going to help you with your homonym (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/homonym) issues however, but perhaps proofing more carefully will help you out along those lines. The homonym that you seem to have the most trouble with is “weather” when you intended “whether”. Not only is it annoying to read it, in addition to your horrific misspellings, makes you sound dumber than a bag of rocks.
I try to keep neutral when I write my opinions about any subject weather people agree with me or not and I usually ignore comments about me as most of the time they’re so petty it’s not worth responding to people with the maturity of a 2 year old, however I just read a comment on Mussings from the the Moon where a poster by the name of Pressi made a very serious accusation against me that needs to be responded to. Here is the screen shot of the comment.
As far as I can ascertain, Preesi stated her opinion in response to a query I made regarding you. Now, being the educated man you are trying to pass yourself off as, I am sure that you are familiar with the First Amendment, yes?
Other than the fact that Pressi is a Ed Rendell supporter, and most likely a Democrat is not the issue, but to accuse me of threating the life of Dana Hoffman from The Reading Eagle is just way out of line. I have been critical of Dana as she promoted her readers at one point to conduct road rage against The Gosselins with a picture of their van when they first got it, and she continued to encourage her readers to stalk The Gosselins when they were still living in Wyomissing. I have also been critical of Dana on other issues, and even made some humorous jokes about her, however I never once threatened her life.
If Preesi being an Ed Rendell supporter or a Democrat is not at issue for you personally, then why the concerted effort to mention it, eh, Mr. Conservative? Further, I don’t live in PA so I don’t know the issues between you and Ms. Hoffman. Obviously those in the area would know more about this. Either way, I simply don’t care. As stated previously, this is Preesi’s opinion which has nothing to do with Musings from the Moon other than the fact that I am not a fan of censoring the Musings community or censorship in general, the liberal Democrat I am. That ol’ free speech thing again. If you have an issue with Preesi’s opinion, take it up with her. She has a site, go moan there (assuming you can spell her moniker correctly while you search for it).
We can agree or disagree with The Gosselins behavior, but to promate behavior that can endanger their kids when they did nothing wrong such as what Dana Hoffman and other bloggers have been doing back in those days, then you are crossing the line. I wrote about these incidents in the past and still stand by them today.

I can bet that Kate Gosselin’s staff watches Musings from the Moon for security purposes and her bodyguard has Musings from the Moon on their list of loony toon threats. As I read more into the Musings blog I discovered posts from people that have the potential of crossing that line, and Preesi is one of them.
The foregoing paragraph is as hilarious as it is preposterous. We obviously know you don’t read what you write as evidenced by all of the typos and misspellings that occur with every paragraph of your drivel, but may I suggest you start to read it? Then, and only then, may you start to realize how very ludicrous, not to mention irrational, you come across.
Please, by ALL means, report me and Musings to the authorities (in your mind). I wait with bated breath for a Cease and Desist ordering me to stop opining regarding the Gosselins, Matt Heckman, Hot Tamale Candy, dust bunnies or the hundreds of other subjects I have talked about over the last year, plus.
And here is a little FYI for you: While I have no doubt the Gosselin’s PR people read my blog, I can pretty much guarantee you that any security measures that the Gosselin’s enjoy are (besides for a sense of [false] self importance), for people such as your new blogging buddy “Debbie” a/k/a in the blogging world as “Baby Mama” and the Gosselins’ biggest (delusional) fan. People who do not like these child exploiting parents are not the ones outside of their home gawking and hoping for a peek of the family. They are not the people following them hither, thither and yon. They are not going to a Kate (full of lies) speech or standing, salivating in line for hours to pay full price for a book that Kate did not write just so they can say “Hi” to her, only for her to treat them like a piece of mouse turd in her cupboard. Those that speak out about Jon and Kate Gosselin are the least of their security worries, trust me.
I will be clear while I think The Gosselins are guily of fraud by scamming chruches by not only lying about their financial status as well as their personal life which is becoming more evident after reading their divorce papers, these kook blogs are just as guilty.

I think the question you kooks need your ask yourself is what is more important to you your hatred for Kate Gosselin, or the safety of her children?

Just another quick English lesson Mr. Heckman. To determine whether (heh heh) to use “an” or “a” in a sentence, IF the word following it begins with a VOWEL, use AN, if the word following it starts with a consonant, use A. This sentence below should have read AN Ed Rendell supporter….

I’d love to read something about your background, is there anything out there in cyberspace where I might be able to do that? What does someones political affiliation have to do with concern for the Gosselin’s 8 children? I believe that could be a big part of the problem there in PA, too many people spitting at each other and more concerned w/their political agenda, than with actually DOING something to help the 8 Gosselin children. Use some of that “anger” you purport to have for Preesi, and direct it towards your PA lawmakers, who to date, have done nothing but sit on their hands and collect money off the backs of those 8 kids! Something about the Gosselin “ponzi scheme” which I never understood in the first place. The Gosselins have done many unethical things, but I can’t see where they have been running a ponzi scheme except in Heckman’s twisted logic. He may have other tee shirts, IDK. I haven’t been to his site but a couple times and that was when he first started blogging about the Gosselins, or at least when his entry on them was linked at Al Walentis’ (sp?) blog, who btw, is someone else Heckman seems to have an issue with.

Goodnight! And yes, I read that book to my baby boy before he was born up until he was about a year and a half old. I still have it in safekeeping for my grandchildren, God willing I have some one day.

FWIW, I am not affiliated with any political party–I’m independent–almost apolitical. If I feel something is wrong or unjust or just plain not in the best interests of the United States, I will voice my opinion about it–I don’t care about the “party line.”

At the time Heckman was involved in a little online tiff with a local Democrat because that Democrat had the nerve to write letters to the editor of the local paper, the Reading Eagle. Let’s call this person Jeff. Among some of the things Matt did was 1) posted Jeff’s picture on his blog, without Jeff’s permission, 2) posted Jeff’s home phone number and address and encourage people to harass him and make crank calls, even though it was actually Jeff’s mother’s number and address…and yes she did get harassed, 3) made posts allegedly by Jeff’s ex-wife, although he got her name wrong so that actually made him look stupid, 4) claimed that Jeff made racist comments at a MoveOn.org meeting, even though there was no record of such a meeting, 5) claimed that Jeff vandalized his car and mailed him death threats. There was a lot more but you get the idea.
As for Anne C., the webmaster for her campaign blog was her son, who had numerous health problems and was confined to a wheelchair. (He recently passed away, in fact.) Matt went to high school with this person and attended the same church as Anne’s family, so he knew all about this. So what does our hero Matt do? He made posts to Anne’s campaign blog under Jeff’s name saying things like “I’d like to push you down the steps, wheelchair boy.” Pretty nasty stuff, wouldn’t you say? What’s really funny about this is that many local Republicans who knew Jeff called Anne and said “no way is that Jeff, he would never say that, etc.” Anne’s campaign was able to confirm that it was in fact Matt who did it.
Anything Matt Heckman says or does should be taken with a huge grain of salt.

He is just one more unstable mind in the world that will make up claims and throw out innuendo to further his severely right wing agenda. In other words, he is a fruit loop, as I stated.
And you are correct. No one here has ever advocated doing anything that would harm the Gosselin children in any way, shape or form. For the record, we very rarely even talk about the children and I never allow derogatory comments about them. I also never advocated separation or divorce for Jon and Kate. What I did advocate was pulling the plug on the show and doing whatever it takes to heal and move forward as a solid family unit. Healing the marriage would never happen under the glare of film lights, with a camera in one’s face.
Jon and Kate have clearly articulated through words and actions what is important to them, and their marriage and being a part of a solid family unit is not on their agenda, clearly.

For the retrospective “clip” show episode that aired on June 29, just 1.587 million viewers tuned in, RadarOnline.com has learned. That compares to the over 10 million who watched the June 22 episode where Jon and Kate announced they were separating.
Kate filed for divorce on June 22. She and Jon are now alternating their time at the Wernersville, PA home where their eight kids reside full time. TLC is planning to bring the show back with new episodes on August 3rd.

I voted for Barack (love him!) in the last election and have voted democratic in every presidential election because they happened to be the candidates I believed were best suited for the job and what the country needed. However, I have lived in several states over the last 20+ years and have always voted as an independent in gubernatorial and local elections. I lived in Massachusetts for a few years and voted for Bill Weld (Republican) for governor. Bill Weld was NOTHING like the idiots they have today in the republican party. They are stuck on stupid, mean, and are actively promoting INTOLERANCE.

This is great news!!! This, coupled with the in-the-toilet ratings for Monday night’s show (only 1.5 million viewers) says to me that the Greedslin scam is dying out. I predict the show will not come back. If the suits on TLC can come up with an entirely new premise with just Take and the LameAss, MAYBE they could do a pilot or something. But I think everyone is SICK of these two. I also think the Crookbook will never happen.

Kate Gosselin’s divorce apparently has cost her a book deal.
Weeks after the stars of “Jon and Kate Plus 8″ announced they were splitting, book publisher Zondervan decided to drop plans for Kate’s cookbook, according to the L.A. Times. The book was tentatively titled, “Love Is in the Mix: Making Meals into Memories.”

I do not believe for one moment that all Republicans or Conservatives are fundementalists who are of an outdated (politely stated) point of view. I know quite a few who cringe as much as I do when the backward statements are made.

A “close minded attack site” ? Really? Is this what you are feeling? If so Megan, then I would assume that Musings isn’t for you. Musings had a quarter of the readership that it has now at the 2008 election. It was clear to anyone that read Musings that I was a Democrat. I made a huge amount of fun of Sarah Palin. Were people offended? Some of them were but I also don’t tip toe around my beliefs. Were those offended Republicans? You bet. However, many that stuck around and debated the issues were Republicans as well, and a number of those women are still here today.
My point?
I don’t like to censor Musings and for the most part I do not. Do I enjoy my readership being offended by something that I or another Muser says? Not necessarily, but I also know that no one grows one iota in their lives if all we do is converse with people that believe the exact same things as we. I also know that mature adults can carry on a discussion, with opposing views, and still enjoy each other when discussing those subjects and subjects that they do agree on.
Preesi posted a link to higher profile Republican pedophiles. I, a Democrat, balanced that list with a list I found online that exposes higher profile Democrat pedophiles, knowing someone was going to take offense. Plus I thought that there should be a balance. Pedophiles are certainly not regulated to any political party ethnic or socioeconomic group. They are pervasive in every nook and cranny of our society and in all the world’s societies.
What I do know is this: No one is always going to agree, and certainly not as Musings moves farther away from the Gosselins and continues to explore other issues/matters. I have been blogging for over a year and participating in online forums for 12. Someone always gets offended. How they deal with that is what matters, IMO. Some people leave never to return and some stick around for a good discussion. I know that I don’t want to play referee for posters, and for the most part I don’t. If things get out of hand, or what I feel is out of hand, I will say something. In this case, I did not see anything get totally out of hand.
I am sorry that you and others were offended. I truly am. But as I have stated in the foregoing, it is bound to happen when people start to talk about subject/issues in which they don’t agree or see eye to eye.

I do want to reiterate, however, that I am good friends, both in my off line and online life with people of all political parties. As a matter of fact my BFF of almost 27 years is an Independent, now. She used to be a die hard Republican and I could not love her more. We were BFFS pre-kids and her kids and my son grew up together in the same area. We have some incredible discussions about all subjects, not just politics! I also do not agree with every thing “Democrat”, but it is my chosen party and I am, for the most part, pretty damn liberal. I used to be a bleeding heart liberal, lol, now I am just a damn liberal, and I am good with that!

A fractured family apparently isn’t enough for Kate Gosselin’s new book to be shelved.
Zondervan Publishing House is still advertising a November release for the Jon & Kate Plus 8 matriarch’s new book “Love is in the Mix: Making Meals into Memories,” USA Today reported Thursday, adding Amazon’s website shows an October 13 release date.
However Zondervan CEO Maureen “Moe” Girkins added the Christian publishing house will “work with Kate to reassess the schedule for her next book” since Gosselin filed for a no-fault divorce from her husband Jon last Monday before the couple publicly announced their separation during that night’s Jon & Kate Plus 8 episode.
“We are saddened by this news from the Gosselins and will continue to lift both Jon and Kate and their children up in prayer,” Girkins told USA Today. “We respect their need for time to focus on their family during this difficult time.”
Because the book is billed as offering “an inside look at one of America’s most close-knit families,” Tim Penning — an assistant professor of communications at Grand Valley State University in Michigan — predicted Zondervan will most likely rethink the book’s release.
“It would be a fine line for them to try to sell this book with the kind of revelations that have happened,” he told USA Today.
“I think the public generally understands that it was a good idea, but times have changed. Zondervan has to think about not just this product, but their brand and their reputation. They should also be thinking about Jon and Kate, too.”

I get frustrated with the people who identify with one party and refuse to see any other point of view just because it is not something their party as a whole agrees upon.
Our country was based on people who were sick of being told how or what to think. Our diverse views is what makes our country able to grow and learn. Tolerance for other’s opinions is essential (imo). We don’t need to agree with each other but it’s important to keep an open mind.

As Kate Gosselin attempts to keep her family together as she and husband Jon sort through their divorce, her many side projects have been put on hold. The latest project to be affected by her private turmoil is a clothing project she was helping to promote as recent as May.
“Our project is on hold while she focuses on her family,” Healthtex representative Scott Pryzwansky confirmed to RadarOnline.com.
In an appearance on the Rachel Ray Show in May, Gosselin gave audience members a gift bag of treats including DVDs of Jon & Kate Plus 8, copies of her new book, and an adorable dress which Ray described as a “Healthtex outfit [Kate] helped design and create.”
While the fall clothing line is still available at Walmart, Gosselin’s involvement has come to a halt for the foreseeable future with no date for her return currently slated.

Just a little reading you may want to do on Mr. Heckman. A few years ago he was banned from Wikipedia for his behavior concerning the Mayor of Reading’s article on the site. In addition, there used to be a good story out there about why he was fired from a previous job. It had something to do with harrassment of another employee. Mr. Heckman has a response somewhere on his blog where he explains his side of the story, but I can not seem to find the other side of the story on the web any longer. Like you, Moon, I have friends and family members with different political persuasions. The majority are conservative. They pray for me, and I ask them to read. For the most part, we avoid the taboo subjects of religion and politics to keep peace at the Thanksgiving dinner table. I am somewhat surprised that everyone doesn’t agree with me, but hey, that’s democracy for you. LOL

Truth be told I had to wade thru his post and a whopping 20 comments all of which were too stupid to make sense and I was neither shocked nor awed by any of it. Don’t fret.

Truth be told I had to wade thru his post and a whopping 20 comments all of which were too stupid to make sense and I was neither shocked nor awed by any of it. Don’t fret.
My son, at just turned 19, is on summer break – he also holds two college degrees. He started college at just turned 16, btw, at one of the top schools in the US for early entrance.
As for Voodoo, no one here practices it as far as I know, lol. My son is more of an atheist who believes in Spinoza’s god – meaning the aggregate of the intricate workings of the universe; neither omniscient or omnipotent. He is, first and foremost, a rationalist. Me? I am rather eclectic and carry forth with many of the teachings of the Gnostic Gospels – something that I have been studying for years. I also hold my Saints close to my heart as well as the Virgin Mary and Mary Magdalene. Hubs is a traditional pagan, or the religion which existed in the British Isles prior to its conversion to Christianity. As an FYI, a person would be hard pressed to enter any older house of worship in Scotland and not see the Green Man as well as pentacles in the masonry of the building alluding to their pre-Christian origin and belief of the people. As a matter of fact, they sell both in the Rosslyn Chapel. Beautiful place that. I loved praying there. A bit cold, but they do give you nice blankets in which to keep warm.
Regardless, I am unsure why one would disparage Voodoo – Vodou – vodun. It isn’t my religion, but it certainly practiced by numerous peoples in not only in parts of Africa, but Haiti, some Caribbean Islands, Cuba and America as well. It simply shows an incredible ignorance of the world’s religions and the peoples who practice them.

No, I didn’t. I am a strong believer in allowing a person to come to their own spiritual truth, or none at all. I am also a Unitarian Universalist and my son attended religious education at our Fellowship and of course, at home, wherein he was educated regarding all of the world’s religions and tenants of same, age appropriately, of course. The idea is to foster a tolerance for all religions and religious beliefs, particularly if they are not one’s own.
He is still seeking and I am good with that. His ultimate truth is his to have, own and enjoy. Ultimately his beliefs may have absolutely nothing to do with my beliefs, but why should they? They are his.
I have many friends of all sorts of faiths and we get along famously, why wouldn’t we? I respect theirs and they respect mine. That is how it should be, IMO, and it is in my immediate world. I simply wish it were true in the larger world. There would be a hell of a lot less hate and certainly less unrest. We would be closer, IMO, to true peace among nations and people.

About 18 of those posts were made my Matt himself. That’s what does….he posts a new topic and within 10-15 minutes he has all these people responding, and they all make the same typos, spelling errors, etc. as Matt.

Yes. I haven’t been there from the first two times I went, but I received a number of emails today relating the same sentiment.
Let me tell you a few things about Matt Heckman:
1. He beats his wife
2. His house is disgusting
3. He goes from job to job because he is lazy and full of himself
4. He says that he makes tons of money, but everyone related to him knows he is always in finacial trouble
5. He is always getting his car repossesed
6. He starts fights with his own family because they can not STAND him because he puts lies about them in his blog
7. He has the mentality of a 10 year old
I could go on more, but eh…what’s the point. I’m sure I’m just adding fuel to the fire but god the drama is so much fun!!
