However, loved the story about Steve’s wife. I think Kate is going nuts without her Stevie. Didn’t somebody here say Steve and his wife were just fine??? I hope so. I think it would be really a big mistake for Steve to actually leave his family for kate’s family.
I’m also getting tired of seeing that picture of Jon with the waitress from a bar (the first of all the “fan” photos). It was OBVIOUSLY a fan photo, the girls were in work uniforms. This poor woman. She poses with a celebrity (cough, cough) and it is STILL being published over and over.
Seriously, she didn’t do anything wrong but smile.

A very callous, rotten observation on my part but Kate looks very heavy lately. A quick visible weight gain with wackyier than ever mood swings can be;
- stress or situational depression related eating
- medication induced weight gain (anti-d’s, steroids)
- poor wardrobe choices coupled with a bad boob job
- bad menu selections on the road (but she stays at home for the kids right?)
- pregnancy
It’s been discussed before but I’ve never thought the boobs were bought because she’s never stayed out of the limelight or covered up enough to recover from the surgery. And they aren’t perky enough. The new ones stand straight up and these girls don’t. They are bigger but they still droop. So hmmmmmmmmmm. She’s either been eating too much or two much. Time will tell

Thanks Pressi and Moon for the scans . I never buy these, but enjoy the updates. Most of them seem to just write the same , half made up statements, month after month. Same ole’ crap and those horrid pictures of Hate’s fat ass.
But The Stars article caught my eye. If that truly was Gina, why in holy hell would Steve give her up for ugly-fake-ass-plastic Kate? Gina may be older, but she beats the crap out of Take. Idiot man to give his family up for this control freak. He may be ok looking, but he’s about as smart as a box of rocks.
They showed a picture of Steve without his ring. But I noticed even though they didn’t mention it, the one of Gina also showed her with no ring. Ummmmmm………
Put the rumors about Steve together with Kate’s recent trip to MD (it was hinted she went there to see Steve) and I come up with something more than a completely sterile bodyguard/client relationship.
We’ll never know the whole truth, but I can’t wait to find out more about the timeline for J&K’s breakup, how the fabricated filming/broadcast schedule fits in with what was actually happening, and whether there is a future for Kate w/Zondervan, Healthtex, Walmart, etc. I think there is soooo much more going on than we can ever imagine. And, of course I’d love to know how right or wrong we’ve been on the many rumors we’ve heard and the behaviors we’ve picked up on. Curiosity won’t kill this kat – it just makes it dig deeper for the truth.

My Heavens — Life&Style massacred Jon.
I don’t believe there was a positive sentence about him in the whole article. It was about poor devastated Kate, who was shouldering all the responsibilities for the kids and the mansion maintenance herself (all of Jon’s old duties are now hers – HA) while absent Jon “seems more interested in fame than family”, distances himself from the family, has a nanny watch the kids rather than doing it himself, and who can’t wait to “start living it up”.
I don’t know what bee got under the bonnet of the writer, but the article was brutal to Jon.

It all make sense now. Kate cannot be alone, says it scares her to death, she always gets what she wants. Steve is it. Bet that is why she was crying on Father’s day weekend. No Steve to lean on. She is a homewrecker, watch and see, its all going to come out and she will be ruined totally and will not be able to redeem herself. People do not take kindly to husband snatching.

I would wager that Jon and Kate now have separate publicists. Hence the one sided articles on either one of them. Um, better said, hence some articles that heavily favor Jon, while others seem to heavily favor Kate.

Im gonna just say this…
Kate DID in fact have a boobjob
Preesi,
I agree with you 100% ! I saw the BIG difference from those pix from NC and mentioned it then. Most people think its from a “good pushup bra”. Yeah sure. I’ll buy a dozen right now in every color, and then you can sell me ‘one legged organic cow’.
I personally don’t care if she had a total overhaul, but you can bet your booty she had a boob-job. It’s a damn shame that you can’t have a soul transplant. I’d offer to pay for that one!
Point being……
like everything else, she feels that…… “The kids deserve it.”
Thanks Preesi. As always your scans make my week.
How did Kate evolve from “can’t do no right” to “can’t do no wrong”. Am I missing something?
Kate’s now forced to stay home and be a mom. Good. That’s her punishment. Karma Kate. Karma.

Big Thanks to Preesi for the scans!
I was particularly irritated by the one about Kate allegedly making stipulations at the private school the tups will be going to . Apparently the parents at the school are really ticked off !! According to the article , a source said that “Kate set regulations on who she wants in the Kindergarden class and the school is listening”. The source also says “she had a bunch of stipulations such as vaccinations the kids needed, medical histories and serious family issues”. And, to put the icing on the cake, the source says “None of the kids could have parents who worked for any kind of media and no pictures in the classroom unless it was the show taking them” (Boy talk about calling the kettle Black).
If these statements are true, then where the HELL does she get off?? Who does she think she is busting into an expensive private school and flapping her demands around like that. How Low class can she go?? I can see why The parents of that school are and should be outraged.

Money talks. Especially in private/parochial schools.
My daughter went to private/parochial schools K-12. Her high school was a top-notch college prep school.
It was amazing what went on and how “donations” smoothed the way for kids who should have been kicked out to stay.

If I were the Principal or sat on the board, I would say “Thanks, but no thanks and may I should you to the door?”. As a parent, I would not want my child to be in a class wherein their were special stipulations made for some children, and not others. I would take my tuition and go elsewhere.

Somehow I can’t see Kate greasing palms so her children can get special treatment in school. She will expect special treatment, but unless TLC is paying for it, I can’t see her doing it.
Also if I were a parent at that school, I would never allow my child to be filmed by TLC/Figure 8.
For christsake, it was bad enough for me to have my mom as my 3rd grade teacher!! Those poor kids!

From Parenting dot com
I’ve seen every episode of Jon and Kate Plus Eight, and clearly I’m not the only one fascinated with the Gosselin family. Like many of the show’s fans, I was often taken aback with Kate’s gruff attitude toward Jon; calling him stupid in front of the kids or yelling at him in public. Still, I was excited to meet her. She didn’t seem nearly as excited to meet me — she wouldn’t look me in the eye and sat stiffly in her chair with her arms crossed in front of her chest. (Her hair, I must say, was every bit as perfect as I imagined it would be. So blonde! So… spikey!) She eased into the interview after a few minutes though, loosening her shoulders, laughing, and getting animated about her children.
She got fired up when we started talking about her help. Kate Gosselin does not like the word “nanny.” It isn’t allowed in her household. To Gosselin, it implies her biggest fears: loss of control and her role as a mother.
She was most emotional when talking about this Fall, when all of her children would attend kindergarten three days a week. “It’s going to be too quiet,” she said. “Kind of sad.” It’s hard to picture her alone in her house — something that she said has happened only twice since she moved in. As I pushed her to talk about how she felt, she looked at Rachel, the Director of Parenting.com, and said, “Is she trying to make me cry?”
Of course we asked about Jon. Did she want to talk about any of the nasty rumors that are plastered all over the tabloids? No.
The first episode of Jon and Kate Plus Eight: Season Five was hard to watch. Those crooked houses were a little too symbolic. I’m glad the show is taking a break; I think everyone needs it.

#21 BohemianMoon,
What I should have added is private schools also suffer from economic downturns. Good times, full classes. Bad times, public school. A family that can fill a classroom in one shot with 6 students will have more clout than a family with an individual student. My daughter went K-3 to a small Christian school where the class sizes ranged from 6-12. If KON showed up en mass the pastor would think he died and went to heaven. We also have to factor in the ’star’ factor. What a selling (dare I say ‘marketing’) tool for the school. I’m not good at explaining things; hope this sort of makes sense.
Thunderstorm coming. Daughter at Laguardia Airport pissed that her BF has a 2.5 hour delay flying in from MT. At least by the time he arrives the rain will be over.

Getting to Know the Real Kate Gosselin – Lauren Passell of Parenting dot com
Kate Gosselin is a magazine cover fixture these days, so it was a little surreal to see her — and her trademark punky hairstyle — in the Parenting offices for a sit-down with our editors. Just as the Gosselin divorce story exploded, we chatted with her about what “normal” is for her, her relationship with Jon, dreading the first day of school, and the future of the show.
Can you describe your typical day?
What’s typical? I don’t have two days alike anymore, unfortunately. Life is crazy. It’s really hard at this point. When they’re little you get up, dress, them, feed them breakfast, clean up, play, clean up, make lunch, feed lunch, clean up, nap time! Get them up, snack, make dinner, feed dinner, clean up. Bathtime, bedtime. Now every day is different and it’s just a race and prioritizing every single day. Every day is a challenge at this point.
Then how do you plan?
I keep a lot of my schedule in my head, and I do have a huge calendar so I write that stuff down and it changes 150 times a minute, so it’s all about having the people around me that I need to help me get everything done. I’m very hands-on and I like to do it myself, so it’s still very hard for me to hand that control to other people.
So it must be really hard to choose help you’re comfortable with. How do you do it?
Very carefully. Because of the situation we are in, we don’t have very much help, even still. We do have someone that helps with the kids. But I still like to do it myself. I like to do my own cleaning. I like to do my own shopping. And I do. Because that’s how I show my love.
You don’t have a nanny or anything?
Well since I’m traveling a lot now, there is someone that is there. I don’t call her a nanny, for the record. That makes it sound like she’s taking my job, like she’s in charge. I’m mom. I love her and she takes care of the kids the hours that I need her but by no means does she live there. When I come home from traveling I brace myself because it takes me a full three days to get the house back where it belongs. Not to say that people don’t do their jobs in my absence but it definitely needs some attention.
Well it’s your house. It has to be how you want it.
I’m a control freak. Like that notebook sitting there, I’m like, who sat that notebook there? What is that notebook? Whose is it? Where does it belong? Get rid of it. I don’t know where it came from.
When you were a little girl, dreaming what your life would be like, how many children did you envision?
Three.
What do you think your life would be like if you only had three?
I have no idea. I do not know what it’s like to have one baby. It just doesn’t seem right.
Do you have personal time?
No. Eventually I get to go to bed. I actually smile as I’m walking toward my bed. I’m like, ‘finally.’ I do build in time to go to the spa once a month. Moms feel guilty about that. They feel like they shouldn’t take that time away from their children. But I feel that if you don’t do that, you’re grouchier. If you can take that time for yourself you’re a better mom in the end. Every day? No. Every week? No. But once a month I feel it’s excusable.
That’s an irony of life. Why is it that when you’re really busy is the spa and the massage appointment the first thing to go? It gets shaved off the calendar and that’s the thing you need. I can’t figure out how to remedy that. That bothers me. You go to the dentist, even when you’re busy. Why can’t you go to the spa?
What about buying things for yourself?
I shop for myself because I feel like I’m out and traveling. At one time I was the t-shirt- sweatpants mom, but that’s really not going to cut it anymore.
So you do get some personal time. But what about couple time with Jon?
We’re together when we’re cleaning up at night, and we have lots of dinner meetings. But couple time probably gets crowded out. But we do see a lot more of each other than the average couple because we work from home.
Do you and Jon get to do fun things, together, though? Do you go on dates?
No. Not so much. When I go home, I feel, like, “ahhh”, I just want to be there. I just don’t feel there’s a need to go out. It’s nice to be home when we’re together.
What do you consider your job? Being on a TV show? Motivational speaker? Writing a book?
All of the above. I am mom first. I am reality TV person second. And most people think, oh, reality TV show stars don’t work, which is hysterical to me because so much goes into behind-the-scenes — e-mails, the conference calls late at night. There are hours that go into it. They don’t come over and say, ‘Okay, this is the show we are going to do today.’ I come up with the ideas. We talk about of it. All of that is so much work in itself. And obviously with eight kids you have all the dentist, doctor, orthodontist appointments, hair cut appointments, all those usual things. The speaking, the partnerships that I do, the book writing. I’ve written a book in a day — and a half. A day was my goal and I didn’t quite make it. Never did I ever think I would be doing this but I’m loving it.
How often are the cameras not in the house? How much of the year?
We started filming in 2005 and I think we’ve had a week or two off here and there but we never really stopped. And they are there an average of three days a week. But it’s now just filling in between everything. They’re very workable. I can essentially make our schedule, which I like a lot.
How long do you want to let the cameras, and the world, into your home?
I have never known, from day one. As long as people want to watch us. I can’t ever say.
How do you get eight kids to the dentist?
We take the whole afternoon. We take a huge block of time.
How do you keep them entertained in the waiting room?
They just play. They’re good.
They’re all going to school in the fall?
All eight. Yep. I’ll have to lay out eight outfits and pack eight lunches and book bags and get eight pairs of sneakers. Homework. Field trips. Just getting through the stack of papers that come home. I’m a little nervous.
Are you doing anything to prepare yourself?
I already have their wardrobe picked out and ordered from Healthtex — each outfit is $16. I remember when Cara and Maddie were dressing themselves I was really anal. They’d come down in all this horrendous mis-matchey stuff. I’d never allow it — I was always laying out their outfits. Even back then when the babies were little I couldn’t tolerate it. It hurt my eyes. But the Healthtex line is all color-coordinated so they can pick and choose, which is fun because I’m going to put it on the low rack in their closet and let them go crazy and dress themselves.
What about budgeting for back to school? What’s your advice?
I buy things on sale. The key for back-to-school is not to wait until the last minute, when things get sold out. I want the products that I want for the cheapest I can get them. I don’t want to have to give up on the products I want in order to fall into my price range. Watch for things you know you need. Lots of moms don’t budget for back-to-school, and they should.
Why don’t they?
When you’re buying back-to-school stuff, you’re saying goodbye to the summer. People don’t plan ahead because they don’t want to face it’s over. I dread when summer’s over. Dread, dread, dread. I hate it. I hate the routine of getting up early, the warm days are gone. You’re heading to fall and it makes people upset. People don’t want to watch for sales. I literally dread when I start seeing the sale things, with the rulers and the apples on them.
This school year will be a major milestone for you as the younger kids go to school.
Yeah. I can’t imagine it. I’ve only been in our house twice without anyone else in it.
How’s it going to feel?
Too quiet. Kind of sad. It really is sad. We all have those letting-go issues. Are they really safe at school? I hope they’re okay. What if they miss me?
What will the first day be like?
Are you trying to make me cry? It’s going to be facing reality. They’re going to be five. Every year is hard but five is old.

OMG!! This interview disturbed me on so many levels. What a fucking liar she is. She says she can’t sleep in once school starts because she has to be up to get the kids ready for school???? Fucker!! When did she ever do that, anyway???? Jon always got up, got himself ready for work, woke the twins up and got them ready for school plus got the other six up and dressed, brought Queen Kate her coffee by the bed before she decided to get her sorry ass up at 8:30!!! YES, 8:30!! THIS HAS ALL BEEN DOCUMENTED!!! Lie after frickin’ lie. She buys things on sale?? When?? She gets everything for free!! Stop the act, Katie Irene. It’s disgusting and makes you look smaller and smaller by the minute.
Okay, so the today show clip of the closet at Neverland ranch with triple locks….freaky…….

Syl,
I can see how “donations” can smooth the way for kids in parochial and private schools who should clearly NOT be there for a variety of reasons. I don’t like it and do not condone it, but it does happen. A LOT. BUT – how can Take go in there to the tups new school (I assume it is the same Country Day School where the twins go….) and start DICTATING policy, rules, regs, procedures that the BITCH has wants in place because the tups will be there. BULLSHIT!!! She is a TOTAL TWAFFLE FACE! Moon is right – Take will NEVER “donate” to the school to get her way – she thinks she can simply walk in and make demands – like everyone is ready to kiss this Bitch’s feet…. Thanks for the Parenting mag. article. What a fucking pack of LIES! I’m sure the interview questions were submitted to Take’s publicist who wrote the answers and then gave them to Parenting. Don’t you think?
That article was VERY disturbing. But, if it was done post-Deanna debacle and pre-divorce debacle, then her “answers” reflect the her “reality” at that point in time. That is to say that she still believed that people would believe the shit and lies that come out of her mouth.

You betcha, the Parents article was full of inconsistencies and contradictions I had trouble reading it. I kept going back to a previous sentence to confirm that what I’d read. She’s NUTS. Just a few of the article’s contradictions I picked up on – there are plenty more when compared to real life!
“I want the products that I want for the cheapest I can get them. I don’t want to have to give up on the products I want in order to fall into my price range.” She wants the cheapest she can find, but doesn’t wait for them to fall in her price range — does that make sense?
” I’ll have to lay out eight outfits and pack eight lunches and book bags and get eight pairs of sneakers…….I’m going to put it on the low rack in their closet and let them go crazy and dress themselves.” WTF – she makes sure to tell the reader how hard it will be to get the kids ready for school, but them forgets that the freebie color coordinated clothes from Healthtex will make that chore unnecessary because they’ll actually be dressing themselves — with the help of the not-a-nanny!
“it’s all about having the people around me that I need to help me get everything done……..we don’t have very much help, even still. We do have someone that helps with the kids.” Which is it? Having enough people around to get everything done or just someone to help with the kids?
And, don’t anyone forget how she slaved on her book – I’m guessing the scrapbook – 8 Little Faces – which took up all of 1.5 days of her time!?! (or was it Multiple Blessings? HA) And, she still wants us to believe she’s a hands on mother and her work outside the home is tough and time consuming? Everytime she opens her mouth she digs her hole deeper and the dirt begins to fall back in on her. Even if her publicist reviewed the questions with her prior to the meeting, Kate still opened her mouth and contributed enough of her bs to crap it up.
And, how does this model mother show her love for her kids? “I like to do my own cleaning. I like to do my own shopping. And I do. Because that’s how I show my love.” Huh! It becomes more and more obvious why we don’t see her being affectionate with the kids – she shows it by cleaning and shopping for them!
Gosh, my Mom (as I would guess many of yours did, too) cleaned, shopped, sewed all of our clothes, cooked us dinner EVERY night, did laundry, read to us, tucked us in EVERY night with a kiss, spent hours brushing our hair, engaged us in storytelling, took us on nature walks, taught us crafts, was both a Girl AND Boy Scout troop leader, and talked with us about how our days went, and still showed us her love with affection. And Kate — shops and cleans. Man, what a mother!
on 03 Jul 2009 at 2:00 am#48fadingnebula
She’s PROUD of only spending 1.5 days writing her book, PUH_LEASE. Maybe that’s why 8 Little Faces gets 1 star average ratings at Amazon. IT SUCKS. She didn’t write it. She plagairized the Bible.
on 03 Jul 2009 at 2:08 am#49Steph
By the way….here’s a question that occasionally pops into my head. Which bedroom has been assigned to the not-a-nanny? We know she has stayed overnight; so which room does she call ‘home’? Unless Alexis?? is no longer sleeping alone because they resolved her problem of waking the others too early; they don’t have enough bedrooms – or have I miscounted?
on 03 Jul 2009 at 2:16 am#50Steph
FN, You’re right; I’m sure she is proud of it taking that little time. I kinda think her 1.5 days of work on the book was spent okaying the work others did and hand writing the words an editor had already chosen for the captions. And, that’s all it takes to be a best-selling author, huh. Something is reallllly wrong with the buyers to believe her bs and give her money for crap like that. I knew the book was a joke, but never considered she’d contributed THAT little to it.

She’s PROUD of only spending 1.5 days writing her book, PUH_LEASE. Maybe that’s why 8 Little Faces gets 1 star average ratings at Amazon. IT SUCKS. She didn’t write it. She plagairized the Bible.
I know. I am sure that that quote made her fans that bought that book feel all nice and fuzzy inside.

Most authors, (and by this, I mean REAL authors, who write their own books, that are actually filled with words that make up sentences that express coherent thoughts and are gramatically structured) would be ashamed to say that they took only 1.5 days to write a book.
In fact, most authors spend YEARS perfecting their manuscripts, brainstorming, creating plot lines, researching, editing, revising, etc…….
Kate is no J.K. Roling. She’s no Steinbeck. She’s no Woodward.
And she never will be. She is not willing to put forth the effort, and good books don’t write themselves. They take passion, dedication, determination, and hard work.
None of which Kate Gosselin is familiar with.

Sorry. This is coming from someone who just defended every piece of written work she’s ever done in Grad School in order to get her master’s degree. Who spent MONTHS researching household sewage treatment legislation (how it gets inacted, who plays what part, special interests, etc) to write a 20 page research paper for my final class ever, and am proud to have EARNED my A!

Okay, according to the parenting blog thing, Kate was a tad off and defensive and didn’t want to answer any questions about the controversy surrounding Jon etc. Yet in the published interview it’s as if there is NOTHING wrong! Nothing at all. When they interviewed her it was obvious the drek had hit the fan and rumors abounded yet Parenting had an agenda or a spin (or the publicist did). Did they honestly think the whole ‘affair’ and ‘caught cheating’ was going to blow over and they could go to press with such an outdated pack of lies?
If nothing else, we are getting a grand lesson in how to be spin doctors.
There is a movie out there, down the road, it’s going to be like…like…..um….some sort of parody of a reality show gone bad. Like Network, but without the humor.
This is scary to me. But more in that “Christians in general, scare me” sort of way. Let me put this out here, and hope I don;t get annihilated.
1. Most of the commentors there are basically telling Kate, and everyone else in a bad marriage, that God will heal their marriage if they go to him and give it all up to him. Well, IMO, this is very like giving up all personal responsibility or consequences. “Yes, I cheated on you and you treated me like absolute crap, but God will take that all away.” really? Just like that huh? Let’s just forget that you have these proclivities and if we don’t mention it again, all is well? Cripes.
2. They like to quote about how women should be submissive and always stand by her man. That no matter how bad things are, marriage is the ONLY way to raise your children correctly. No offense to any believers out there- but what a load of BS. There is NO excuse that allows for a bad marriage, and all of the damage that comes to the children along with it, to supercede an amicable divorce. Divorce is bad, yes, no one will refute this- but is it logical to believe that children would refer a home that is tension filled and horrible to live in to splitting their time between two happy parents? I hardly think this is healthy thinking.
And what about that prayer suggestion? Most of the comments suggest that Kate get on her knees and pray for God to give her wisdom in this troubling time. This strikes me as naive, but only because I have a differing opinion on prayer, and God’s place in it. Open your minds for just a moment and CONSIDER the possibility of God, as organized religions know Him, as being a coping device. Not a real entity sitting up in heaven watching all of this, but a mechanism devised by the human mind to deal with life in its entirety. Basically, it is my OWN personal conviction that God is not separate from us at all, but rather IS us using a higher consciousness to handle everything. So basically, if you believe like me, these people are telling Kate to listen to her own judgment, and follow that. And somehow the resolution will be different? I tend to think not. But again, that’s just me. And yes, I get a bit amped up after reading pro-christian blogs and commentary, as none of it makes sense to me when viewed through what i have just written. Maybe this should have gone in the rants thread…
But in summary, i think divorce is needed here. They are too far gone to save this marriage, and neither will benefit from counseling as one cannot help themselves unless one wants help. They don;t want help. So it’s a moot point. Christian or not, reality is reality, and praying for them to make this work despite the facts seems like an act of futility. Instead, they should be praying that these kids are grounded enough in the world not to all kill themselves before they reach 18.
I keep re-reading that interview Kate gave to Parenting magazine and my impression is that this is what happens when an extreme narcissist attempts (somewhat futiley) to tailor her responses so they’ll reasonably answer the criticisms she’s received in the press, on blogs, etc.
I would love to know if and how much she was prepped for this. I can feel the war raging in her head between “I can do and say whatever I want” and “I have to make sure I don’t reinforce all the negative perceptions of me”.
I think the interviewer asked some really great questions. I loved the one where she asked about how much time the cameras are filming in their house and Kate initially did the “whew, they’ve been on constantly since 2005 so I’m exhausted” and then suddenly went, “uh-oh, that whole ‘kids working’ thing…I meant, they’re only there 3 days a week”.
I actually almost felt a tiny bit of sympathy for her when she blurted out a few (probably genuinely truthful) things about her neuroses……the part about the notebook that was just sitting there driving her nuts and the part about the “mis-matchey” clothing making her eyes hurt. Those were the very few things she said that I actually believed were truthful.
But for most of it, I found it interesting that she seems to put so very little thought into how to respond while keeping the critics in mind . For most people…if they were in the public eye, they would put a great deal of thought into how to respond to critics so their responses would at least be fairly logical. But for Kate, not only does she repeatedly contradict herself because she gets tripped up in her many lies….but due to her narcissism, she doesn’t even invest any time into creating lies that seem logical/plausible. It’s almost comical…like watching a 5 year old who got caught with a hand in the cookie jar.

That picture of Kate’s face in Star magazine is so weird looking. It looks overly photoshopped or something. Or is it just my computer? Anyway, it made me laugh.

Great pics!! I am still laughing at Kate n that blue bikini…Ewww!!! I could not find the match.com website for Jon. We know he is an idiot about his personal life..but match.com!!!! This saga will continue for quite sometime, which is sad. The kids are still being exploited via Kate. I am glad that the sponsors are cancelling Kate left and right. I notice they are no longer the number 1 story on Tvland and that must be upsetting to Kate. That interview made me almost choke on my morning coffee…..such a victim….and a darn good liar. I cant believe her demands she placed on the private the kids are going to!!! My kids went to private school when they were older…and money does talk at times.. She has no business asking personal questions about the other kids that will be attending. Perhaps things have changed since my kids were in private school, but the school they attended respected all of the teens attending and didnt play a media show. If they did, a lot of kids would have left the school via the parents. Wow that woman still wants her 15 minutes of fame and finally that is what is becoming 15 minutes. She sounds like trailor trash to me…with her demands.

Jordan, in no way do I take offense at your comments. And I certainly don’t want to “annihilate” you. I just want to give a “counter point” to your comments.
I would like to say, in response to your #1, that is JUST what God can do, were K&J to “give it all up to Him”. In NO way is one “giving up all personal responsibility or consequences.” Actually, just the opposite. One must be willing to admit to all their failings, shortcomings, evil deeds, (ie, sins) etc. that contributed to the demise of their marriage; to both their mate, as well as to God. THAT is just the beginning of reconciliation. Saving a marriage, that has gotten to the point of the G’s marriage, while difficult, is NOT impossible. But it is hard, hard work. It requires humbling oneself, it requires constant attention to each other and to their family. It requires much, that the G’s are unwilling to commit to at this point.
So, actually taking the road of divorce is the easy answer, in the short term. But, one that will in the long run, be the most devastating to the family. I’ve seen marriages saved in which BOTH persons have been willing to do just that. But, sadly as you said, neither Jon nor Kate seems to want, or be able to admit to their failings.
In that case, as it stands now, there is no repairing their marriage. Sadly, most of us, believers or not, can see much that should and could be done, as just a small start, to working on their marriage. They would have to be willing to turn their back on the money, and be ready to do the hard work required to save the marriage. But, the love of money, is the root of all evil. And, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. (Matt 19:24) Obviously Christ knew, that money is a great deceiver, and once caught in its grasp, one is all but unable to see life in proper perspective and set their priorities accordingly. That is not to say that Jesus doesn’t want us to prosper, it only means to not let that money be your god.
Thanks for letting me share another perspective.

Interesting thought towards the end of the article – TLC might have put the show on hiatus because they needed time to convince the show’s advertisers not to pull out – and not to give the fractured Gosselin family time to heal.
Unscripted TV fare balances real with “reality”
When the Oxygen network green-lighted the reality series “Addicted to Beauty,” the idea was to chronicle the day-to-day workings of a trendy California medical spa via the lives of its married co-owners, a socialite and a doctor.
That was the plan, anyway.
“Before we even got into production, they got divorced,” Oxygen general manager Jason Klarman says. So when “Beauty” premieres next month, it will focus on socialite Dianne York-Goldman’s attempt to start a med-spa at a different location, as well as her re-entry into single life.
“You’ve got to roll with the punches when you’re doing these shows,” Klarman says. “These aren’t characters; these are real people, and you always run the risk of them having lives.”
Indeed, as TLC has learned with its breakout hit “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” the unanticipated real-life travails of reality personalities can prove both a boon and a bust to the network that’s following their every move.
In TLC’s case, a record 10.6 million viewers watched Jon and Kate Gosselin announce their marital breakup during the June 22 episode. But the show — only six installments in a 40-episode order have aired — has since gone on hiatus until August 3 to figure out how to move forward.
The “Jon & Kate” phenomenon has sent shock waves through Hollywood’s unscripted TV community.
TRYING TO BOTTLE CONTROVERSY
“I’ll bet there are some networks saying, ‘Let’s hire a VP of controversy; how can we make this happen for every show?’” says Arthur Smith, producer of Fox’s “Hell’s Kitchen” and ABC’s “I Survived a Japanese Game Show.” “I think it might be a misguided reaction, but a lot of people are saying: ‘What a home run! Ten million people watched TLC. How do we bottle that?’”
In a crowded reality landscape, executives even are strategizing ways to spice up their “diary” shows — which track the day-to-day existences of ordinary people and celebrities — with attention-grabbing real-life side stories.
“In a world where you never seem to have as much marketing money as you’d like, you need people talking about you,” Animal Planet president Marjorie Kaplan says. “There’s no question that when we’re talking about doing a series, we think about what will get people talking: What will get activists talking, what will get US Weekly talking, what will get the ‘Today’ show talking, what will get YouTube talking.”
Adds reality veteran JD Roth, who is producing A&E’s “Hammertime”: “Every time I’ve had a moment like that in a show — and granted, none has generated the kind of press attention that ‘Jon & Kate’ has — it’s always helped the series, not hurt it. You don’t want something to happen like what’s happened to Jon and Kate, but you hope someone does something to shake things up. That’s what moves the drama forward.”
The heat generated by “Jon & Kate” is only the most recent example of unscripted TV’s increasingly tough balancing act between the real and the “reality.”
CO-STAR, NOT BFF
Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie stopped being friends after the third season of “The Simple Life,” but by then E! had shelled out millions to acquire the show from Fox, so producers concocted a conceit that allowed the duo to continue for two more seasons without interacting much.
VH1 faced a similar challenge when Hulk Hogan’s offscreen family troubles began to overshadow the fourth season of “Hogan Knows Best.” Now the show continues as “Brooke Knows Best,” focusing on Hogan’s daughter.
And when Scott Baio unexpectedly impregnated his girlfriend, VH1’s “Scott Baio Is 45 … and Single” became “Scott Baio Is 46 … and Pregnant.”
The stakes have been raised, however, because of “Jon & Kate’s” unexpected surge in popularity. Through four cycles, the show was a reliable, if unspectacular, ratings earner for a struggling channel. Then, in the spring, rumors regarding the marital infidelity of the series’ principals began to circulate. US Weekly featured the Gosselins on its cover six consecutive weeks, and ratings exploded for a channel trying to gain traction under new president Eileen O’Neill.
The June 22 episode drew, by far, TLC’s biggest audience to date. But rather than boisterously touting a hit, O’Neill has declined most interview requests, saying only that the show will continue in some fashion.
“I think TLC probably has to meet with advertisers to make them feel comfortable about staying in,” says Shari Anne Brill, senior vice president and director of programing and strategic audience analysis at ad-buying firm Carat. “They’re taking a step back and figuring out what they’re going to do next. Fundamentally, what that show was is not what it is now.”
Ratings also indicate that scandal isn’t necessarily enough to sustain an audience. After “Jon & Kate” first broke TLC’s viewership mark on Memorial Day with its season premiere, it slid precipitously and didn’t spike again until the episode featuring the split-up announcement.
EMOTIONAL CONNECTION
According to Kaplan, for a show to enter the public consciousness the way “Jon & Kate” has, producers must be open to a certain level of uncontrolled dysfunction.
“A lot of reality TV is artifice — you can just feel the wheels turning,” she says. “But when it’s really real, that’s when you have the opportunity to create a true emotional connection with the audience.”
But tabloid headlines don’t always help a show. In November 2007, A&E’s “Dog the Bounty Hunter” drew attention when its star was caught on tape blathering racial epithets. Here, the long-term damage to the series — now only a marginal ratings earner — probably outstripped any momentary viewing boost associated with the controversy.
“It’s dangerous because sometimes the controversy can be so big, even though you get a ratings spike, you don’t get to reap the rewards of it because it takes over your show and it unravels,” Smith says. “You want your shows to get attention, but you want to be able to control it. Good controversy is something that happens within the context of the show that isn’t bigger than the show itself.”
Hovering over everything is the moral question of how camera crews are affecting participants in times of personal crisis.
“It’s a question of, if we keep shooting, what’s going to happen?” says Andy Cohen, senior vice president of original programing and development at Bravo, which in 2007 was forced to confront the sudden death of trainer Doug Blasdell, star of its hit series “Work Out.” “It’s not worth exploiting something for a quick number if you’re going to really wind up destroying someone’s life.”
Then again, another network executive adds, “You can never walk away from a hit, especially one that delivers 10.6 million viewers.”

Maybe over simplification, but, to me it seems TLC added an extra 8 million viewers to see a train wreck happen. Once the seperation was announced only 1.5 million approx. watched the next episode. If the banter between J&K was a draw that now is gone. IMO alot of this hiatus notion might just be an agreement with the State of PA. This would allow them time to do an investigation. I hope the state has access to her quote where she admits to filming almost non-stop, 3 days a week.

To me, the possible exploitation of of a situation involving a consenting adult is not nearly as egregious as the exploitation of a non-consenting child.
That was an interesting read and an interesting perspective….thanks, Steph. I can even understand their point, to some degree…except for the fact that they never mention the exploitation of children. I can understand that drama and conflict can increase ratings but that there is always a risk when real-life drama suddenly happens in a reality show and I’m sure it can be tricky if you work in production….but for me, the issue of child exploitation is a more important peripheral issue.
I can totally sympathize that there can be unfortunate risks to adults in these circumstances…but for me, the risks to the children are never acceptable.

Do you think that this so-called “hiatus” is just a cover for an actual order by the state of Pa to shut down production pending the outcome of the formal invesitigation? The Leprosy Channel is spinning the “hiatus” as their decision “to give the family some privacy as they work things out” or whatever. Actually, TLC filmis more than three days per week – Take has said in the past they are there 4-5 days per week with 10-12 hour days. Again, another inconsistency.

Thanks for that article Steph. Very interesting. For the record, I don’t take issue with reality shows as a whole. I love the Amazing Race and am completely addicted to Top Chef. I also really enjoy Ruby and think she is a great role model for women. Sure some of the situations in that show are pre-planned but it still seems organic because Ruby seems to be such a genuine person.
Any adult that wants to be filmed, even if you’re making a spectacle of yourself, I’m fine with it. I take issue with children being involved.

I think that what was written in the article Steph posted, regarding the hiatus, makes a lot of sense. I could easily see advertisers, who had chosen a family-oriented show on TLC, becoming nervous about the turn that J&K had taken. Suddenly not so family-oriented in that warm and fuzzy way. Advertisers like Juicy Juice, etc….I could easily see them becoming apprehensive.
It makes a great deal of sense to me that the hiatus was mainly to meet with advertisers and discuss future advertising.

Before reading the article I wrote off TLC’s statement as bs and never considered what was behind it. We know that BIG $$$$$ drives the show and it stands to reason that the advertisers would be awfully worried about the direction of the show, the potential for failure, details of future plans, etc. I’ll bet TLC was in a panic and may still be (and the panic had to filter down to J&K, too). J&K+8 meant BIG $$ to them all and as ’snarkish’ as this may sound; the thought of TLC’s phone lines clogged with calls from nervous advertisers brings a smile to my face.
I only hope those worried advertisers are taking a hard look at ALL of the reasons to pull their ad dollars from the show and are finally taking into consideration all of the e-mails and letters we wrote objecting to their sponsorships. Maybe this is the opening we needed for our voices to finally be heard.
Let’s face it, TLC’s going to have to pull something spectacular out of their a$$ to compete with the show’s past numbers. The advertisers saw huge ratings, paid higher ad prices, and will want the same results going forward. I’m sure TLC promised them big #’s for Season 5 but I doubt they can deliver – at least I hope they can’t. How much faith do the advertisers have that TLC can deliver on their promises? How much money has this cost TLC in either lost advertisers or from having to reduce the rates they were charging the show’s sponsors?
on 04 Jul 2009 at 3:07 am#78dee3
I might just be delusional here, but I honestly do believe that there may actually be certain companies out there who do care enough about their reputation that they would not want to continue to support a show that began to deviate from what they support/stand for. I mean, if I owned a company that produced a children’s product and I tried to portray a wholesome, family message, I’d be thinking twice about still advertising for a show that has caused so much controversy….esp. in terms of the messages supported by my company.
I’m sure there are also peripheral issues involved. For instance, I’d imagine that with Zondervan ( and maybe I’m cutting them too much of a break here) but that even if they were not happy about where the show was suddenly going, they’d already invested a great deal of money in an upcoming book and were desperately trying to cut their losses.
But for companies that could actually pull their advertising without losing a huge investment, I would imagine that many of them who wanted to portray themselves as family-oriented and project a healthy family image might have been getting nervous on their own, just seeing the tabloids.

Jordan, God will not heal a marraige just because one asks it of Him. If you sincerely go to the Lord in prayer and give Him your problems such as the healing of a marraige, and take FULL responsibility for those problems and pray that He will strengthen YOU and give YOU the direction in which to go.
God WILL work through you and guide YOU in the directions you need to go to heal your own marraige!
My favorite verse…
Phil 4:13
I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strenthens me…
With Gods help a child of God can do anything, even rebuild a marraige on the brink of divorce.
I know!! I have been there. I saw the Lord change my husbands heart literally in about 48 hrs! After 20 years of a marraige to a man whom never took ANY responsibility to any problems we had, never ONCE said he was sorry for anything and would not communicate his feelings to me because it just didn’t matter to him. After 20 years of basically living with a man that was depressed and moody, I SAW my husbands heart change and soften! Within 48 hours he took complete responsibility for every downfall our marriage had since we first said I do. The Lord not only helped us heal our marraige but He strenthened the bond between us.
Jon and Kates marraige can be healed “IF” they are children of God and sincerely go to Him in prayer for guidance, direction and love.
Sometimes the Lord allows us to fall to our knees in order for us to see our need for Him. Whether Jon and Kate desire to reach out to the Lord remains to be seen. I’m not judging as I don’t know their true hearts but from what I have seen….sadly Jon and Kate do not seem to truly know the Lord and have mocked Him endlessly.
Their marriage at this point may be exactly where the Lord has decided to let it go. :O(

Thank you. I appreciate and respect your view, and agree with most of it. In fact, my husband and I are going through some stuff now ourselves, but we both WANT it to work, so are going to counseling together. For a very long time I was hoping Jon and Kate would do the same. Even though I do not consider myself a fan of theirs, I was truly saddened to see how easily they gave up. I think that’s why I’m still fascinated by them. I can easily see this happening in my relationship, but it seems that when hubby and I watch J&K, it just makes us feel so much better about us…sad, I know^^.

TLC says they do not have enough footage to continue, for now. We know they filmed almost 2 weeks in NC. That is the sneak previews footage. They also filmed in Washington, DC, at the Smithsonian Institute, for Night at the Museum II. What keeps them from showing this? Two things IMO only.
1.) Maybe reaching an agreement with Jon for the interviews, that seem to be done at the last minute.
2.) Appeasing PA by halting production until an investigation is done that would include anything filmed after the complaint was filed.
Realize PA has stated this complaint was not filed by family members or current production crew.

search for truth ~ TLC says they do not have enough footage to continue, for now. We know they filmed almost 2 weeks in NC. That is the sneak previews footage. They also filmed in Washington, DC, at the Smithsonian Institute, for Night at the Museum II.
After reading the article I posted above I believe they’ve had issues with advertisers and have needed this hiatus to calm down everyone – from advertisers to family to fans. I agree with you – they do have a lot of footage ready to go, but may need to adjust the voiceovers to accomodate the status of the marriage.
According to BM’s running tally of episodes, they supposedly have 8 shows ready. ‘Another Campout’ with only Kate and the kids ‘Gardening Gosselins’ – Kate and kids create a garden – HA, Kate getting her hands DIRTY? ‘Gift of Gab’ J&K answering viewer questions – AGAIN ‘Smithsonian – seeing the movie’‘Smithsonian – visiting the Museum’‘Smithsonian – on the drive home they talk about the future’ ‘Waterslides – Cara and Mady go to a waterpark’‘The Divorce’ – a 2 hour review of events since they announced the divorce to air 8/24.
The trip to the Smithsonian must have really been something for them to be able to stretch it into 3 episodes — can you imagine how many shows they’ll be able to make out of the 2 weeks in NC? And, don’t forget that the day Kate set up the bouncy playhouse TLC was taping, so that’s another show to add to the list.
‘Gift of Gab’ J&K answering viewer questions – AGAIN
———-
Oh, this should be fun.
“Why did you have the vow renewal?”
“Why do you lie to your fans?”
“Don’t you think lying on camera to you children will be harmful in the future? Do you expect them ever to trust you?”
“You want the media and the fans to respect your privacy. How about respecting the privacy of your children and stop filming them to sell to pedophiles and crazy fans?”
I could go on all day . . . doesn’t matter. We’ll see questions like:
“How DO YOU DO IT!?”
“What is your favorite recipe?”

Yeah, seen that show.

Yeah, seen that show.
We have snark at least 3-4 times. If FAQ per Jon means frequently asked questions, what does Gab stand for.
Going around backwards lol
Steph I have no idea how TV sponsorship works. If it is for a network or show, season or episodes. I do know from working in NASCAR we had a performance clause. So we had to finish at certain levels to continue getting sponsorship money. Maybe TLC has the same thing ie viewership must be at a certain Neilsen Rating. 1.5 is low for this show, maybe TLC is holding back hoping for a ratings boom as well.

Here is the link to the article by Matt Semino, ESQ
(I think TVsnark and maybe several others already posted this link…)
But, I did want to share the response a woman over on GWoP got from Matt after she emailed him.
Hi Leila
Thank you very much for your kind response to my piece. Like you, I feel very strongly about the exploitation of the Gosselin children. In terms of who to contact, I would first start with the Pennsylvania Dept. of Labor as they have been investigating claims of the violation of child labor laws and they would have the power to enforce positive changes upon the show. In addition, I would also contact the Gosselins’ book publisher Zondervan to encourage them to stop the publishing the Gosselins’ books. Another thought is to contact the Congressional representative for the Gosselins’ district to put political pressure on his office to react to this situation. A final idea, is that when a judge is appointed to preside over the Gosselins’ divorce case, to write to that judge directly concerning the division of assets earned by the Gosselin children. Together we can work to influence change. Please feel free to share my article with others who may find it of interest. I look forward to remaining in touch.
Best Regards,
Matt Semino, Esq.
I like Matt’s suggestion to contact the Judge handling the Greedslin’s divorce to share concerns regarding the kids’ earnings. Right now, Judge Arthur Tilson is the judge on their case as reported in the media. This may change, but here is Judge Tilson’s contact info:

Ha ha, big Gosselin jokes on “The Soup.” Joel mentions the name of the book and then says it should be called, “Have your 23 year old girlfriend microwave a burrito.”
Made me laugh.

“Normally, wouldn’t the Smithsonian episodes have aired during the initial promotion of the movie??
We never got to see those “great interviews” that the kids gave. Kate was so proud of her little money-makers.”
Wonder if Kate has dreams of her white throne being enshrined in the Smithsonian alongside Archie Bunkers.
Re: the Parenting.com interview, some of the answers are incongruent if the interview was conducted at the time suggested.
At the so-called time of the interview, the state of PA was investigating TLC regarding the hours the Gosselin children are being filmed (working). Kate’s description of how often and when they are filmed wouldn’t seem to bode well with those doing the inspection. Also in light of the investigation, in this interview she admits to coming up with ideas for what to film. However, starting a couple of months ago when Jon and Kate had to start defending themselves against exploitation of their children, they both stated that they were simply going about their lives doing things they do and the cameras just happened to be there. All as if the children would have been doing exactly what they were doing whether or not cameras were there.
Either this interview was pieced together from other articles and interviews or as someone suggested the answers were given by a publicist.
OR – as true full blown narcissists tend to do: Kate has told so many lies to so many different people she can’t keep them straight.
I did have to laugh at her comment that it took a day and a half to write a book though her goal was one day. I looked at the book at Target and a day and a half seems about right. Actually – I would have believed one day so she could have lied about that too.

YEP, the Smithsonian episodes were planned to air when the movie was released but that was the same week or two when Jon first made the headlines and they scurried to shoot a new show.
I really question them running a new FAQ show – what in the heck can be asked that they’ll answer? And, the episode featuring them driving home from the Smithsonian and talking about the future – how exciting will that be??? I realize those are listed as upcoming shows, but I’m going to wait to see them in my tv guide before I count on them airing. If we cross all fingers and toes maybe they won’t come back at all — that’s wishful and delusional thinking, isn’t it?!
Merette,
Thanks for posting the info from Matt regarding writing to the judge overseeing the Gosselin’s divorce. Even if the letters aren’t all read, I hope the volume of mail alone might be enough to persuade him to consider the subject. I’ve already written to the others he listed, so I’m hoping the judge will do something. Does anyone know if in PA the same judge handles child custody matters or if that part is overseen by their DCFS?
search for truth,
I know nothing about tv advertising contracts nor exit clauses, but I do know that in the past advertisers have pulled ads at the last minute for reasons of sexual content, offensive language, or controvercial subject material – so I would imagine that an advertiser could pull their sponsorship of this show because they felt it was no longer the same show with same family values and content as it was when they signed the contract. We’ll have to wait for the news as I’m sure someone somewhere will write about it IF advertisers pull out of J&K+8.

Well, Jon and Kate managed to keep their word and have apparently successfully celebrated the July 4 holiday together with their kids albiet with sparklers and fireworks done during full daylight!
The infamous pic of Kate in the blue bikini popped up next and when I actually looked at it this time I noticed something strange. There’s NO tan line on her butt. You know – the one that’s usually there when your suit bottom rides up (as hers is in the pics), which lead me to the most disgusting thought — her method of dress or undress when she tans. Go ahead – check out the photos and you’ll see what I’m talking about. lol

fading,
Thanks! I found them. What a joke. It said that Figure8 was not filming, but the paps were obviously there – hence the pics. I have to say, Take looks like a mean and nasty bitch – like she just got in her car and drove over to the KONpound from the local trailer park. Also, I think she looks really OLD – way older than 34. I think meanness, spite, bitterness, wanton greed, selfishness, and being an out-an-out twaffle has aged her. Let’s see, did I leave anything out?

I wonder if they can’t use the NC footage now because it has too much of Steve in it. I wonder if he was just too “in it” this time and not invisisble on the sidelines like he used to be…and now they can’t use any of it and edit it properely because he was in most of the footage, being too up close and personal with Kate.
We saw the photos. It was very much his vacation as it was Kate and the kids’.

I would hope that the folks over at JJ were snarking when they referred to “her famous American flag cake.” Hey, that cake recipe was going to be in the now defunct crookbook – aren’t we all devastated we will never have that special recipe secret?

Kates famous American Flag Cake??
She made it ONE time, last year when they were at the beach house and did nothing really but hollar at the girls for eating the fruit. The icky boys were NOT allowed to touch the cake.
I’m surprised she even gave them any.
By the way as most of you probably know, that american flag cake recipe came off the back of a jello box I believe or cool whip and is there every year!

And by the way, I sure all of us here are aware that that American flag cake, in addition to being HIGHLY UNoriginal (been around since the 60’s or 70’s at least!) is in NO way ORGANIC. Cool Whip is artificial NON DAIRY topping (probably will be found to be carcinogenic 25 years from now!) and it’s a yellow cake mix from a box. Maybe Take bought organic fruit. In any case, I am not impressed. I would not eat that cake. It totally grosses me out – maybe because I do not like sweets in general.
on 06 Jul 2009 at 4:55 am#106Merette
Here is the recipe for that flag cake – created by the Cool Whip people. Sorry, but something about this cake (and Take’s claim to inventing it) just galls me. Who the fuck does she think she is kidding? BM and her ilk, I guess.
Wave Your Flag Cake
SUBMITTED BY: Cool Whip®
“This all-American flag cake is delicious and easy to assemble. A pound cake and gelatin base is frosted with whipped topping and decorated with blueberries and strawberries.”
Prep Time 20 min.
Ready In 4 Hrs. 25 Min.
INGREDIENTS
• 1 quart strawberries, divided
• 1 1/2 cups boiling water
• 1 pkg. (8 serving size) JELL-O Brand Gelatin, any red flavor
• Ice cubes
• 1 cup cold water
• 1 (12 ounce) package pound cake, cut into 10 slices
• 1 1/3 cups blueberries, divided
• 1 (8 ounce) tub COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed
DIRECTIONS
1. Slice 1 cup of the strawberries; set aside. Halve remaining strawberries; set aside.
2. Stir boiling water into dry gelatin mix in large bowl 2 minutes until completely dissolved. Add enough ice to cold water to measure 2 cups. Add to gelatin; stir until ice is melted. Refrigerate 5 minutes or until slightly thickened (consistency of unbeaten egg whites). Meanwhile, line bottom of 13×9-inch dish with cake slices. Add sliced strawberries and 1 cup of the blueberries to thickened gelatin; stir gently. Spoon over cake slices.
3. Refrigerate 4 hours or until firm. Spread whipped topping over gelatin. Arrange strawberry halves on whipped topping for ’stripes’ of ‘flag.’ Arrange remaining 1/3 cup blueberries on whipped topping for ’stars.’ Store leftover cake in refrigerator.
just checked-out again Pressi’s link to Rachel Ray…and something really struck me..
started looking at Kate and her boobs and her thiness and her energy , then flashed back to her working out for an hour and a half every morning,( People I think), then all of a sudden I saw my friend’s face instead of hers and it all came together..
my friend is like Kate, outward appearances are most important, she took on so much she finally started taking vitamins, then went on to speed to get her through the day..just saying..Kate’s hands and mouth during the interview were really there, you know?
and from the woman who had Jon make her coffee to the woman who apparently works out for at least 45 mins each morning?..HELLO ?

Actually, the flag cake goes back at least as far as WWII. My grandmother made it for me when I was adopted on July 1, 1949 and I have a picture of me with the cake. She used to call it the Victory Cake.

Just in reference to the comment that Kate looks old. When I first started watching this show shortly after the birth of my son in late 2007, I could have sworn she was 36+ or so. I was 33 when my son was born and was shocked that I was older than both of them. While she may be more tan, more blonde, and more ridiculous looking that ever (nice outfits…oy) she really is not looking that good in the basic “looks” department because the inner aspects of her seem to show on her face. Her disgust with people, her impatience, her anger…it’s all on her face and is aging her.
“She’s doing it alone”
I will not read this crap.
A very callous, rotten observation on my part but Kate looks very heavy lately. A quick visible weight gain with wackyier than ever mood swings can be;
- stress or situational depression related eating
Ummmmmm………
Im gonna just say this…
Kate DID in fact have a boobjob
It’s gossip day! Thanks Pressi.
Re: Kate being seen in Rockville…I’m going to be the voice of “reason” here, TLC’s headquarters are there.
Fadingnebula? Where do you get that from?
I cant find anything about TLC in Rockville
Sorry. It’s in Silver Spring, but that’s very near Rockville.
http://www.silverspringdowntown.com/go/discovery-communications
Its 12.5 miles from Thai Pavillion to Discovery TLC Headquarters.
6.02 miles from Steve’s house to Thai Pavillion. It could go either way.
One Discovery Place
Silver Spring, MD 20910
I would wager that Jon and Kate now have separate publicists. Hence the one sided articles on either one of them. Um, better said, hence some articles that heavily favor Jon, while others seem to heavily favor Kate.

Preesi,
I agree with you 100% !
“Jon”’s Match.com advertisement:

#18 JSZ

So, the the 6 get bodyguards in school too??
Just a normal family living their normal life.
Every year is hard but five is old.
syl~
I hear you!
We also have to factor in the ’star’ factor. What a selling (dare I say ‘marketing’) tool for the school. I’m not good at explaining things; hope this sort of makes sense.
I don’t know if I were be turning cartwheels right now if I were planning on using the Gosselin children’s attendance at my school as a marketing tool for the school and to raise funds from Alumni, or future student’s tuition, lol.
Damn, when was that lie-filled interview (#26) conducted?
Bitch.
bula, I couldn’t find a date on that article, when was it written?
#27 BohemianMoon
LMAO. Tah-roo. If it was the Kon Kids, it would send me running!
The only timeline I could glean was from this statement
“Just as the Gosselin divorce story exploded, we chatted with her about what “normal” is for her, her relationship with Jon, dreading the first day of school, and the future of the show.”
So I’m assuming it was post-Deanna, pre-separation.

Getting to Know the Real Kate Gosselin – Lauren Passell of Parenting dot com
I still don’t think they met the REAL Kate Gosselin ………….
Oh, I forgot to say, sorry Pippa
Okay, so the today show clip of the closet at Neverland ranch with triple locks….freaky…….

Money talks. Especially in private/parochial schools.
My daughter went to private/parochial schools K-12. Her high school was a top-notch college prep school. It was amazing what went on and how “donations” smoothed the way for kids who should have been kicked out to stay.
Syl,
I can see how “donations” can smooth the way for kids in parochial and private schools who should clearly NOT be there for a variety of reasons. If the school caves to her demands, then THEY are ENABLERS of this BITCH’S evil behavior. What the fuck is wrong with people?!
Oh – I forgot to add – THANK YOU, PREESI for the scans! We appreciate you and look forward to Thursdays. “Preesi’s Scans” has become a ritual around here!

Thank You Preesi …… its nice to see the Gosselins have been reduce to blips.
I’ve done all I can this week at the grocery store, not to look at Kate’s face staring out at me from her personnel PR mag …. uuuu … er …. I mean ….. the creditable People MAGAZINE.
Good grief! Kate is so full of bull.
I have never seen a person who lies like she does and does it with a hug smile.
Un*******believable.
The kids are not happy when they are with Kate
The kids are happy when they are with Jon.
It is as simple as that.
Gina you go girl. Don’t let Katie Irene win!
I think Jon chose to stay away during the week to force Kate to finally put some time in with the kids.
I wouldn’t be surprised either if he is thinking payback for all the time she didn’t help him raise their children.
Thank you Preesi for the scans and your insight!

I hear you and agree completely. I am just saying that shit happens even in private/parochial schools. Then again who knows if KON even pays tuition or if they’re compted (sp?).
It’s a hardball world and Kate plays with the best of them. She is the ultimate twaffle.
38, Merette, according to the Article/Blog entry, Kate did the interview at Parenting’s office.
Holy Crappola!! We go to Mom’s Night Out at Thai Pavillion all the time! I would have lost it if I saw Kate there! I live probably 15 minutes away. I also used to live in Silver Spring, and yes that is where the Discovery headquarters is located. It’s a really amazing building. Too bad they are all gonna buuuuurn after what they’ve done to those kiddos!

fading,
I know that parenting said she did the interview at their office, but I do not believe them. Maybe Take showed up there, but ultimately, I bet her publicist has control over the answers to the questions. Just my opinion…

My feelings exactly ! She is rude , crude, and should be denied access to that school. Arent they worried about their reputation?? Esp. since this story is out ?
She’s PROUD of only spending 1.5 days writing her book, PUH_LEASE. Maybe that’s why 8 Little Faces gets 1 star average ratings at Amazon. IT SUCKS. She didn’t write it. She plagairized the Bible.
FN, You’re right; I’m sure she is proud of it taking that little time. I kinda think her 1.5 days of work on the book was spent okaying the work others did and hand writing the words an editor had already chosen for the captions. And, that’s all it takes to be a best-selling author, huh. Something is reallllly wrong with the buyers to believe her bs and give her money for crap like that. I knew the book was a joke, but never considered she’d contributed THAT little to it.
fadingnebula~

Kate is not even Tori Spelling!

Lefora is down…
I keep re-reading that interview Kate gave to Parenting magazine and my impression is that this is what happens when an extreme narcissist attempts (somewhat futiley) to tailor her responses so they’ll reasonably answer the criticisms she’s received in the press, on blogs, etc.
Terry~
I could not find the match.com website for Jon. We know he is an idiot about his personal life..but match.com!!!!
It was a parody, not a real advertisment or Match listing.
Ty moon for clearing that up!! Whew
Preesi you are just awesome and I appreciate all your efforts. Especially your insight on the fashion industry in regards to the “designing” of the KG HealthTex line.
THANKS AGAIN!
it seems as though the “not judge mental” person who is responding to the letter written in Todays Christian women mag is BM?? She’s everywhere.
Jordan, I agree with your analysis of the Christian Woman’s article. I just posted the link because when I was reading it I actually laughed out loud.
I didn’t even get to the comments.
Alcohol can really pack the pounds on and I bet Kate has been drinking even more than usual, lately. I don’t usually snark over someone’s body, but she just keeps putting it out there like she is begging for the discussion, so I guess I’ll accomodate her. Flat pattie is what comes to mind.

____

Boy, thanks Steph, that was an interesting read! Could it be finding advertisers? Hmmmm……

Jordans comment——
__________________
Linda–

Jordan, I will say a prayer for you and hubs, that you will “keep your eye on the prize”. Once you have navigated this difficulty, you will come out on the other side, w/not only a new appreciation of your marriage, but a stronger marriage than you could ever have imagined. God bless!

‘Gift of Gab’ J&K answering viewer questions – AGAIN
‘Smithsonian – seeing the movie’ ‘Smithsonian – visiting the Museum’ ‘Smithsonian – on the drive home they talk about the future’
‘Waterslides – Cara and Mady go to a waterpark’ ‘The Divorce’ – a 2 hour review of events since they announced the divorce to air 8/24.
Normally, wouldn’t the Smithsonian episodes have aired during the initial promotion of the movie??
We never got to see those “great interviews” that the kids gave. Kate was so proud of her little money-makers.
“How DO YOU DO IT?”
“Did I tell you that you are amazing and my inspiration?”
“Kate, you are such a strong woman. HOW DO YOU DO IT ALL BY YOURSELF?”

I have a thought!! why don’t they donate that house, they used to live in? ya know.. To a family that really needs it. JMO.. God knows they have everything given to them..
And you’re probably wondering why the hell they are doing fireworks in the daytime? Um, how are the paps going to get clear shots of their asses if God’s bright spotlight isn’t on them? Durr.

I liked this comment! Everyone is on to Kate. Of course it was for the paps!
Yea….who the heck lets off fireworks in the daytime??
Seriously??
Can’t miss another photo op or keep the kiddies up a little late even on a holiday because poor Katie Irene must be exhausted after making that jello cake!
Here is the recipe for that flag cake – created by the Cool Whip people. Sorry, but something about this cake (and Take’s claim to inventing it) just galls me. Who the fuck does she think she is kidding? BM and her ilk, I guess.
Wave Your Flag Cake

my friend is like Kate, outward appearances are most important, she took on so much she finally started taking vitamins, then went on to speed to get her through the day..just saying..Kate’s hands and mouth during the interview were really there, you know?
and from the woman who had Jon make her coffee to the woman who apparently works out for at least 45 mins each morning?..HELLO ?
Actually, the flag cake goes back at least as far as WWII. My grandmother made it for me when I was adopted on July 1, 1949 and I have a picture of me with the cake. She used to call it the Victory Cake.

mb,
Well, thanks for the history on that cake. Take is passing off something that goes back to WWII as her own invention!
