Here is your new “All Things Gosselin” thread for at least the beginning of the week.
Jon Gosselin and Levi Johnston are sharing the “stage” on “The Insider” this week and Katedaronline is “reporting” Jon and his attorney – Heller (he hasn’t gone any where!) will countersue TLC (I was pretty sure that was going to happen no matter what).
Have at it!
Amen! Bring it on Jon and Heller. Jon has so much on TLC and Kate that I’m really surprised that TLC is continuing on with the lawsuit. Spill it Jon.
I’m disappointed that he’ll be on with Levi Johnston, though. Levi, to me, just smacks of slime.

Law is rarely that black and white, especially since the actual contract is sealed and has not been released to the public. Neither I, nor you, really know what was in the contract other than the what was said in the TLC suit and the Affidavit signed by a TLC/Discovery Executive which cites tabloid and citizen journalism websites as exhibits.
It is my understanding that they signed the last contract with benefit of an attorney and their manager, but that doesn’t necessarily supersede all the contracts they signed without benefit of professional legal advice.

I have this nagging feeling that Jon is NEVER going to “spill it!” I wish to God he would – just let ‘er rip with evidence of ALL of Hate’s UMS’s (ugly mood swings) and how she only plays a mother on t.v., not in real life. How about the truth behind the sextuplet’s conception for starters?
I don’t understand his hesitance to expose Hate and TLC for the child abusing Lowlifes they really are. All I can figure is that Jon feels responsible (as he should) and guilty (useless emotion) for a lot of things that went on and he doesn’t want to be the pot calling the kettle black, maybe?
However, I don’t think he’s keeping his mouth shut for anything relating to a desire to get back together with Hate, or not wanting to call bullshit on “the mother of his children.” He’s not that normal.

As for Jon, I do think he is a slime ball, douche bag jerk. He shows it at every opportunity. He is still in this for the money, in my opinion, and likes the attention. The guy speaks out of both sides of his mouth, one can hardly keep up.
They are both dispicable and I really wish they would get what they deserve.
I wonder, how does one handle knowing that the world has turned you into one big disrespected joke? Money or not, these people don’t give a darn what anyone thinks of them. That is sick.
I was away on vacation last week and there was only one mention of the Gosselins on the tv. It was kind of funny, it was a story about Kate getting a speeding ticket (in espanol) I have to get back up to speed. They are both in it for the money and damn whatever happens to their kids.

TLC is really getting creepy! IMO they are headed down a slippery slope going after one of their families! Even if Jon breached the contract, going after him is going after the father of the 8 children and will hurt them in the end. I agree that his behavior has lacked character IMO, but he is who he is just a real person in an unreal situation he is not a paid/ trained actor familiar with the industry. Anyhow, what I mean by TLC getting really creepy is… I watched some of the new episodes and they are putting a dramatic trouble stiring up garbage with each show and advertisment of the new shows.

Hubs was watching Myth Busters and I was half watching, surfing the web. I saw a commercial for the Roloffs and the Orange County Chopper dudes and both commercials were highlighting issues/troubles within the family – marital with the Roloffs and Father/sons issues with the Tuetels (sp?). This isn’t a soap opera with actors, folks, these are live people and their real lives – the heartache of both being sold by TLC to the highest bidder. Families that signed contracts and their lives to these parasites masquerading as producers of staged “documentary” (HA!)
Someone also sent me a comment from Amy on the TLC boards (?), I am pretty sure that is where it was and Amy stated how often they filmed and it wasn’t any 2-3 hours a day 2-3 times a week. More like 5 days a week 8+ hours a day. Let me see if I can find it.

Snarky thought. How can TLC sue Jon for misbehaving? As Kate has said many times this is the realist reality show there is, and TLC has agreed saying it’s reality/ documentary. So, Jon is just being himself, being ‘the real Jon’. He isn’t going off script, he’s being real. By TLC suing him, does this mean J/K + 8 isn’t reality?
Kate and Jon do not seem to understand the difference between being famous and infamous. It is funny discussing them with people that never really watched the show but have read the tabloids. My sister was telling me her opinion on Jon (“he’s a manwhore”) and when I enlightened her on some of Kate’s antics and let her know that I thought they were both despicable in one way or another, she agreed that they are both equally lacking character and morals.
Jon and Kate were very naive to not realize that what the media builds up, they eventually play a part in tearing down. These two could have exited the limelight as one of America’s favorite parents but instead are ending up as the most despised. Give it 5 years or so and the “True Hollywood Story” will be airing, and it won’t be pretty.

I watched some of it – big waste of time. Same things we have always watched. There were a few different snippits (sp?) like Kate running on the treadmill. Thanks moon. The vacay was great. After 32 years of marriage and 3 kids, we decided it was OUR time and took it. We went to a resort in Mexico and had a blast. The only thing I didn’t like was the relaxing massage. Turns out, I don’t like to be rubbed on by strangers. I just kept praying that it would be over soon. Hubs enjoyed his though. Not one person in the resort was talking about the Gosselins. Guess they aren’t so famous in Mexico.
I have to admit it..I watched it last night but not fully. I was flipping back and forth during commercials.
Kate was ummmm..different.
She was like being enthusiastic about the clips like OH I love that one! But her eyes told a different story. She could not hide it. She was saying one thing and her eyes were saying “I could really care less.”
She did get quite a few digs in on Jon. She admitted she was a bitch in Walmart and it was not called for on her part BUT she had to mention that Jon was not being her lap dog like he should be.
It was just creepy to me. Not the repeat countdown. Just how she was on the couch. Like somebody told her to be more positive or they spiked her Frappachino with some Prozac!
well, I caved and watched snippets of last nites show ! same old same old except you can tell TLC is trying to make Kate look HAPPY GO LUCKY
they did focus on the time jon told her to “get the stick” out and Kate was appalled at that comment, but had excuses for all of hers

Kate came across as VERY PHONY ( go figure) and at times flippant
(again – go figure) I think this was an effort to soften her up and perhaps make the viewing audience want more of her (it did not work) ACK – SPEW ! NOBODY wants more of this phony woman. If the sheeple cannot see through her lousy “act” they have issues.
TLC tried its best to have Kate make excuses for many of the issues the bloggers say about her.

Don’t know much about the Levi thing but he has the right to see his kid. TLC may have opened up a can of worms by attempting to pressure Jon by filing suit. Now there’s really no recourse but to settle because TLC will not want to go to trial. Bravo to Jon. Unfortunately, the kids’ money, if not already gone, will now be in the lawyers’ pockets. Sad ending.
Didn’t watch last night. The whole show was apparently an attempt by TLC to whitewash Kate’s bad behavior. Anyone who has watched the past seasons knows the real truth. I don’t get TLC’s interest in this woman at all.
I just watched some of the clips from the show on Youtube. Unbelieveable that Kate would say that she had no idea what the viewers picked. She sure seemed to be able to guess them correctly! Phoney. Z was right—-it was a wasted hour.

OK, this is kind of petty, but why does Jon have what looks like a small snake or sperm wrapped around his ear?
I also don’t know much about the Levi thing–if he is not harmful to his child, he should have visitation. However, he (like Jon and Kate) should be very careful about what they say in the media and about trashing the parent/grandparent of his child. Legitimate complaints are one thing–but Sarah Palin is still the child’s grandmother. The political world can criticize Palin’s views and intelligence–that’s what democracy is about–but the Levi needs to state any grievances he has with the Palins with some decorum and at least a grain of respect, for the sake of his child.
Same with Jon and Kate–as has been stated here often. The viewing public may openly snark on and criticize their behavior (because they put their lives out their on TV for public consumption), but they should be careful about the things they say in public/to the media about each other. No one is saying they both don’t have reasons to be angry with each other, but keep it private, at least for the sake of the children.
I don’t know much about Levi, but he reminds alot of Kate ~ flapping to the media about wanting to spend tons of time with his son, but I think that he’s been away from him for a long time now, trying to cash in on his minute of fame. I wonder how much he’s paying in child support, and just how much he really has tried to spend taking care of his son? Kate yaps to anyone who will listen about what a mother of the year she is, but would really rather be anywhere but home with her children.

Didn’t watch and don’t understand contract law enough to know who has a case against whom. But being a mother I do know that the episode where Kate ignored Collin’s constipation was the single most defining moment of Kate, the person. Now that is pure evil when you are more concerned about choosing the right bedframe than you are about responding to your child crying out in pain, begging for your comfort. Kate, TLC, if you are reading this, you both are responsible for cementing that aspect of Collin and his silbings abusive unhappy troubled childhood in their minds and ours.

I think, IF it were true that the Gosselins had no legal representation when they signed the contract with TLC that a judge would indeed take that into consideration. But, the question is…..according to RO and other outlets, when the Gosselin’s signed the last contract they had an agent and attorney present, was an attorney present or not?
And, my question….if the Gosselin’s did indeed have an attorney present, why did Jon say he had no representation? Was he referring to only their initial contract? Was it one of his ‘lies’?

My understanding of the TLC contract~
The original contract has all the details of filming and behavior in it.
TLC has an option to pick up another season annually. When they exercise this option the Gosselins then have the option to negotiate the number of episodes and the pay….NOT modify the contract in total. It is an addendum.

Some fallacies floating around.
The kids do spend lots of time with Jon’s grandmother. He states in the Korean cooking epi that the kids love Korean food and his grandmother makes it for them all the time.
Keep showing how Kate does tell the crew to leave and shows the epi where she does. It is the Jon BD epi and they are leaving because Jon is on his way home and it would spoil the surprise.
Funny how all the tups instantly are silent when Alexis recites her “Hi Mommy” lines.

Amy has proven herself to be pretty disgusting and so are those twins of hers. I feel okay reaming them, since they’re 18 now. Man, they are unfeeling, ungreatful, spolied, entilted screw ups. And yeah, Amy is filthy. I usually don’t give a crap about anyone’s housekeeping, but, gawd, that woman makes me throw up. It’s a shame she treats that awesome house like a dump and allows her kids to do that too. Matt needs his own place.

I know the last go around the Palins would not let him see his son. I don’t know what the court, if anything, has ruled thus far but on one of the news shows last night it was stated that he was back in Alaska, looking for a house and was going to go for joint custody. That poor baby is just another pawn – for all parties involved.
If TLC claims that they are not prohibiting Jon from earning a living, then Jon should become an author with a tell-all book or write a screen play for a made-for-tv movie. His tale is much more interesting than anything Kate could offer. Geez, there’s sooooo much material.

I believe so and it is probably in his counter suit. From how TLC’s suit and the Affidavit read to me, is that the last contract they signed they had legal representation, but not necessarily the ones before. Also who is to say that the attorney representing them was a entertainment/contract law attorney and was competent? Maybe he/she was, maybe not. Was their attorney an attorney that was suggested or referred to Jon and Kate by TLC? If so that could be considered a conflict of interest.
While I certainly wish TLC never filed suit against Jon, I think that it will be interesting to see how it plays out now with the countersuit. I do hope all the skeletons of TLC are revealed, and I believe there are a few. Namely really how much those kids were made to film without having any representation that worked in their best interest, financially and emotionally.

Over at the resident idiots site, Baby Mama (I know, I know, I don’t know why I keep going over there) but today on her post she said she cried last night while watching. OMG. She is certifiable. She and her idol should be locked up in a nuthouse somewhere!
The Collin constipation episode was the nail in Kate’s motherhood coffin. I’ve never seen anything so bad. I’ve raised kids and I’m not one to panic, but, I would have taken him to the emergency room. Kate sitting there being annoyed that he was bothering her while she was shopping was just vile. I wish some one would ask her questions about that episode. I wish the judge would watch that episode. What was that episode called, anyone remember? I’d like to post it.
I also agree that Jon could make millions on a tell all. Way more than Kate will ever make by pimping the kids. I want to know what really went on in that house so bad. Go for it Jon.

Don’t forget – in that snippet they were still babies in cribs and in Take’s twisted mind, they were “controllable” and cute little China dolls. I believe at that time her “Munchausen’s by Multiples” was full blown. Now that they are school age, they are nothing but a royal pain in the ass to her – except for their ability to continue to earn income. She only cares about them for their income potential. That’s it.

I find Amy utterly annoying on every level and is a slob. She is rough and abrasive, IMO. She has no intellectual sophistication and is not refined in any way. In short, I find her a dolt. And those twins! My God, they have no manners and no class whatsoever. I have not really watched the show in a long time, but those twins can’t even have a conversation about anything, they are so lacking in knowledge and are not interested in other people at all. They are lazy and have entitlement issues, big time, IMO. It seems that Jeremy might make it, but that Zach – he seems like a lost cause. He has no clue at all.

Talk about a cold hearted bitch! I cried for him. I agree, that child should have been taken to the emergency room. Jon using a grocery bag..WTF is wrong with some people. That bag was laying in the back of the van covered in germs and he uses it to relieve Collin. Imagine the germs he introduced into that kids digestive tract. I do and it horrified me. I would never make a kid sit that long on the potty until he/she did something for one, and for two I would never force them to sit in the dark with the door closed, in any room, for any reason, particularly at that age. What a mind F.
Jon was a panelist on The Insider tonight. He caught shit for (and rightly so) for helmetless kids on ATV’s, bikes and skateboards. Also said that when Kate came back to the house Friday night at 11pm, he had fallen asleep in Alexis’ bed and left lights on all over and she was bitching up a storm. Also said she practically threw his luggage and laptop out the door, and was tapping her foot in impatience for him to leave. He said Hannah counts down the days until he comes back. Also, The Insider had ‘people on the street’ ask Jon questions and one guy brought up Kate’s desire to be a cartoon voice and asked Jon who she should be. ‘Cruella de Vil’ was Jon’s response.

They do mention attorneys present at other contract signings. The subsequent contracts, as outlined in the complaint by TLC, were signed with attorneys present. It seems that they were very careful not to mention that the first signing was without Jon’s attorneys present. TLC specifically does mention attorneys present at other contract signings. The subsequent contracts, as outlined in the complaint by TLC, were signed with attorneys present. Those contracts, therefore, are legal and binding.
Anyone can sue anyone, and any good contract attorney can find loopholes in anything. I hope he gets one.

On ET there was a brief blurb on the Hayes family being interviewed. Asking them if they were’t concerned after what has happened w/the Gosselins. Basically they referred to their 19 yr. marriage, him keeping his job, and the unspoken, ‘it can’t happen to us’ mentality.
Skimming through the channels tonight, I noticed that family on Table for Twelve (not sure of their name) was having a family camp out in their backyard. Wow, TLC sure does come up with unique ideas for these shows. I also noticed the product placements popping up for their freebies. The kids going to karate lessons with the name of the karate school prominently displayed in one shot and also across the backs of the karate uniforms. The kids even wore the uniforms to school to attend an assembly. Lessons in exchange for advertising, I’m sure. Haven’t these families learned anything? I wonder when a trip to Disneyland will take place? AArgh! I hate TLC.

Couldn’t watch, can’t watch anymore. Kate will spin and sugar coat to make herself look good and Jon bad and based on a recap I read, this is EXACTLY what happened! We should have Jon on the couch and go over the events in his own words.
As someone who has dealt with pooping issues with her daughter, watching Jon deal with Collin’s problem in a parking lot really bothered me while Kate was more concerned about free beds. I had to deal with a child trying so hard she would wear herself out on a daily basis. She was 18 months old and it took a trip to a pediatric gastro to correct the issue.

I can see TLC’s fingerprints all over the Hayes family too.They are going to be the new and improved version of Jon & Kate plus 8.Last year I believe they took a trip to Niagara Falls and some kind of a water park for kids. The preparation to take Rebecca, their special needs little girl was unreal. I wondered did TLC hire a nurse or someone with some knowledge about the little girls condition to go along? Product placement, we seen that the first episode with the Ragu.

I just can’t see them showing Kate having numerous meltdowns and throwing oranges at Jon or taking one of the tups into the bathroom and beating the hell out of his butt for misbehaving. These are all things that have been stated as happening.

I am sure there was more to the story than what you typed but calling CPS because a parent is in bed with their child is extreme.
TLC strikes me a Kate’s jealous lover. They defend her at all times while twisting everything Jon does/says/did/said to make them look better. TLC needs to step back and take a reality check of their own; they’ve lost all perspective (if they every had any?). Since they are all embroiled in intertwined lawsuits, they should all just STFU and let the justice system take over – not the court of public opinion. Sadly, either way, no one wins.

I saw it and also noticed the footage that ran behind the words. It showed Jon at the fence with a crowd of people, his back to the house, and a couple of kids sitting back at the house area watching – with sad faces, of course. I think #114Linda’s prediction of them trashing Jon may be accurate.
I don’t see anything wrong with Jon falling asleep in Alexis bed. If it would’ve been Kate or any other mother it would be a non issue.
Don’t forget Alexis was the “disturber” she woke the other tups up at the crack of dawn, and Queen Kate was highly pissed. She couldn’t sleep in till 8:30 and have her coffee in bed, so Alexis was banned to the basement. I think right shortly after that Jon was also sleeping in the basement. Alexis probably feels safe with Jon around and if it was 11:00pm he was probably tired and just dozed off.
I don’t think it matters what or how TLC spins the last 2 shows. They have plastered the public with Kate Gosselin until just about everyone is sick of her. And Kate and TLC have done such a good job of trashing Jon that people are just tired of hearing about it. If Jon was the fire-breathing demon with 2 heads and no morals as they’re suggesting, many of us would have to join him and hang our heads in shame. And the ironic and funny part is any compassionate, thinking person knows it’s all a PR job that has backfired big time on TLC. They’ve backed their own butts into a corner with their lawsuit and I for one am cheering from the sidelines for their demise. Ah yes, we reap what we sow. The mighty have stumbled…may nothing break their fall.

I take it the dad was at work because he wasn’t home. But I didn’t see their special needs child anywhere. Where is she at? Did TLC hire someone to keep her out of sight? Someone has to be with her while all this filming is going on.
Also, why did they make another show about little people? What is so fascinating about this “Little Couple” that TLC has chosen to exploit? Little people get married and have careers. Jon mentioned that they’ll all be together for Christmas, (and I’m paraphrasing here) but he’s not sure how normal it will be with all the paparazzi??? Hello, what does that mean, if they celebrate like a normal family in their own house, they won’t have to worry about any of them. The two of them are so F’d Up that they can’t think normal. Think of all the “real celebrities” in life that take their kids to school, go shopping and live their lives without anyone ever bothering them. Kate and Jon both seek out the “p” people and they love it when they’re photographed. I hope for the children’s sake that they really do take the high road and let them have a peaceful day.

THey did show their child, Rebecca I think her name is, a few times. She was with her grandma when Betty took the other kids out and that is where the mom was when they were camping in the yard, she was in the house with the other child. I dont think that this Mom would trust a nanny or film crew with her special need child. She seems to be a very loving woman, and her mom helps her out a lot.

The Hayes daughter, Rebecca, was in many scenes in the episode last night. She was in the kitchen with mom when the family was getting ready to camp out. Mom had been feeding her. And, they commented that she wasn’t comfortable sleeping anywhere but her own bed and I think Mom spent the night with her rather than in the tents with the other kids. Rebecca was also in attendance for the kid’s karate/judo. I think I saw mom had her on her lap. And, she was shown in her bedroom when one of the other kids went in to comfort her. I think the family and TLC make a point to include her in the show as much as possible and in face one of the episodes last season centered around her. The family has commented previously they want to demonstrate how much she is able to do in spite of her handicaps and how the family involves her in as much as possible, etc. She attends school daily and during the taping of that episode she was ill which might explain why she wasn’t shown as much.
As for the Little Couple? Who knows. They started with a documentary and now they’re on their 2nd season of the show. I ‘think’ they may be doing the show to demonstrate how even little people can be successful doctors and in business. idk. I do know that Jen’s laugh drives me crazy and I have to mute a lot of the show, that it’s boring, and that I fast forward thru most of the episodes. I don’t think it’s too long for this world.

Thanks for clarifying. As I said I didn’t see the whole thing. Flipping on it and seeing the same tired theme of the family camp out and I flipped off. Then flipping back and seeing the product placement with the karate school was enough for me.
I hope this family had good representation and is able to flee TLC before they ruin another family. Fame and money has a way of changing people.

Were they concerned about becoming another J&K and the hubs said they were not, felt as long as they kept their values, that he continue his job and cited their 19 yr. marriage as reasons they wouldn’t fall prey to the scandal stuff.
Little Couple, she drives me crazy!!! I think she is already quite hung up on herself, not sure why? I think she may believe since she’s a dr., but her laugh is absolutely annoying as hell. I can’t see them lasting very long either. Oh, coming attractions, they are going to be on Dr. Oz’s show, not sure when.
I was just over at GWoP to check the upcoming episode descriptions (I refuse to go to TLC’S site) and there’s actually three more episodes. Seems we are getting two next week. The description of the 2nd episode caught my attention. They are showing footage of everyone getting passports. We knew the whole family got them…..but, why show it now if this is the end of the show? The last episode for 11/23 is titled “It Might be a Crazy Life But it’s Our Life”. Is the reconciliation coming sooner than later? HUMMMMMM
Oh, vid at Radar of Kate and how she wouldn’t be able to get out of bed were it not for her kids….I hate her. Out of desperation I watched an old show this morning, it is raining like crazy down here, some of the hurricane…but it was the one where she put Aaden on the laundry room floor/twins go to cooking classes. She was punishing Joel for lying to her, and I was repulsed. She’s a fine one to be teaching her children not to lie…the past 5 seasons have been her telling one lie after another.
No kidding, Monday’s #’s for J&K+8 were only 1.65 million? Yippee! I’m scared to be too confident that we may finally be seeing the end of it, but I must say I am encouraged by that number and am feeling a bit giddy.

A question I wonder is this. If J&K had legal representation when they renewed their contracts how did the work permits slips his/her mind. Would an attorney or agent for J&K, as TLC claims they had, not be aware that TLC expected the family to obtain necessary permission to do filming? So with all the legal expertise at the table NOBODY checked into PA child labor laws EVER. Please. It appears legal posturing was taking place to avoid having these children appear as employees being filmed. Incorporation or branding the family would that help or hurt the idea they were not paid participants? So if TLC is right, J&K had a real great attorney back then, one that had no understanding of PA law or TLC’s expectation of J&K, in securing the needed permits.
Secondly the ratings drop seems to indicate people are less interested in J&K plus 8 and more concerned with the negative drama, surrounding them. That negative drama drove ratings to 10 million at its peak, and sold thousands of tabloids. Many watched, (3 million) last week to hear Her Story. Those 3 million dropped in half in just a week. Am I the only one who wishes that statement about Jon in his childs bed had been ingnored? I felt sick that someone even pointed it out. Jon may be a douche, but there is nothing even slightly off with him “that way.”

I think people felt the need to address it and state that they did not feel that there was any inappropriate behavior between Jon and any of the children. I was happy that it WAS addressed as I don’t want any trollers trying to state that Musings was perpetuating that line of thinking. At the same time, however, everyone at Musings is entitled to their opinion and I didn’t want to arbitrarily delete it because the original poster is entitled to hers just because I don’t agree with it, you know?

Regarding the countersuit of TLC by Jon: Oh, Snap! The Gosselins made a deal with the devil so to speak! I scanned the contract posted on ROL. It looks like they locked in contract in 2005 that was not appropriate and even though they might have had representation in extensions of the contract they could not modify the original language. It does not read like TLC operated in good faith. I now really wonder why Kate would want to stay “in bed” with them. As a side note, there was mention of the incident where Kate denied water to her daughter and that it was in violation of child labor laws and that the state will prosecute for that. It will most likely just be a fine though. I really wonder if there is more to the story than anyone will ever know.
That whole statement Jon made about the paparazzi struck me as weird too. It almost seemed like he was reminding them to show up. How many of them are going to work on Christmas anyway? I have this horrible image of the poor kids all bundled up in the freezing weather having a Christmas picnic on the table in front of the garage.
