the good…my friend (who is getting divorced from a verbally abusive asshole) is finally moving out. The lease should be signed today. Yea!
the bad. My husband’s insurance (with the new FT job) doesn’t start for 90 days. I tried to lower my zoloft dose (cutting pills in half or not taking them) and I had withdrawl symptoms. Headaces so bad that nothing worked. I took aspirin, tons of water/gatorade, ibuprofen (prescription strength) and even my magical migraine medicine. I’m back on my regular dose and will have to pay out-of-pocket for these meds. Bleck.

I hear you! I am so mad that I came off the Lyrica and let it get out of my system. Of more importance than the withdrawal symptoms, is the fact that I had litte to no pain relief. I have put off doing most of what I need to do for oldest dtr. coming home at T’giving, waiting for the Lyrica to get back into my system. I’ve been back on it for a wk. now, but only 2 days to go. So my baking, gift shopping for the boys, as well as prepping dishes to take to dtrs. on Thanksgiving, will have to kick into high gear today, since dtr. #1 and family won’t be home again for at least 3-4 mos.

My son in law is having surgery for a detached retina as I write. He is at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. Please pray that everything is fine. He is 29 and a high school special needs teacher and a real nice guy. The upside was that I got to spend time with my grandbaby this morning before I drove him to his babysitter and I get to pick him up when I am done work and take him back to our house to play for a while.

Have you called your Drs. and ask for either samples or pharmaceutical discount cards? My Dr. only had a one-month sample but he gave me 2 cards that reduced the cost to $25/month for 4 months. HUGE savings! Another source may be the pharmacist. They are a wealth of information about drug companies and getting reduced rates. Good luck!

Enjoy your playtime with the grandbaby!

That’s a serious eye trauma. Does he know how he did it? Thankfully he caught it, and the repairs are being made! Prayers to him and family.

Thanks! I am filling out the paperwork (after T’giving frenzy settles down) with Pfizer, for ‘pharmaceutical assistance’. LOL..
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

hi all,
been a long time reader, not much of a poster. Wanted to share this with all of you, hoping for all the prayers I can get. This picture is what prompted me to post. It is beautiful and if there is anything that I have realized over the last six months it is that we are never alone. My husband committed suicide in June and left behind me and his two beautiful children, 16 and 14. No note, no nothing. I know that God has carried us through and without Him I dont know how I would get through each day. As the holidays approach, please pray for my family as it will be difficult. I have learned to appreciate each day and dont sweat the small stuff, thats what it is, small stuff. To all of you here, have a blessed thanksgiving and give thanks for everything you have and hug your families!

Kim~ My prayers are with you and your children, not just during the holidays, but everyday.
Having lost my first husband very suddenly, prayers, family and God carried me through. He was only 39 at the time and my son was 14.
I know that it will easier for all of you as time goes by, but you will never forget him. Nor has God forgotten you and your family.
May The Lord hold you in his arms and help heal your pain.
Kim ~
I’m so sorry for your loss. You and your kids are in my prayers. I wish you strength and peace. God bless.

OK Moon~~~~ I have a question for you.
I placed an order with Joann Fabrics here on your site on the 13th. The order went through, they deducted the $46 from my account the next day and sent me a confirmation letter.
After checking my account a few days later, the money appeared once again in account. I understand that this sometimes happens when the order is being prepared to be shipped. But to my surprise, my money is still there and I have not recieved my order or heard anything from them.
Guess I will try and contact them via email.
Just wondering if this had happened to anyone else.
on 25 Nov 2009 at 1:18 pm#20Linda
Kim, I am so sorry. Hold fast to your faith, the Lord will bring you through. I believe in times such as this, God draws us even closer and holds us in the palm of His hand. I will be praying for you and your children, that you may know and feel the “peace that surpasses all understanding”. God bless – Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

I have nothing to do with the orders themselves, so I would contact them. I just have a link. When someone buys something through the link, I get a small percentage of the total order if that order actually ships to the recipient. Joanne’s is through Commission Junction (Amazon stands alone) and through Commission Junction it is 2% of the total sale which does not come out of whatever you paid for your shopping total. It is paid by the company once a certain threshold is met.
But I thank you for going through Musings’ link I love Joanne’s and Amazon. I do not, however, receive commissions for anything I buy through my own links Which is a bummer since I bought a number of Christmas gifts off Amazon this year, lol

An “unseasonable” death is one of the hardest to grieve through, and you have the added burden of trying to explain the unexplainable to your teens. I am so truly sorry you have to experience this pain. I lost a 17 year old nephew to suicide 2 years ago, and my fiance was killed 11 months ago. I will not say “I understand” because no one can, or “things get easier” since that’s not always true, but I promise that you and the kids will get through this with dignity and grace. There is nothing ungraceful or undignified about howling at the moon when you need to, and wrapping up in all the love and understanding you can find. (imo)
Be gentle with yourself, my fellow human. This is a tough one.

Kim: Hugs to you and thank you for sharing that. I was coming on here to complain about something trivial and your story has set my head right and for that I am grateful. I will keep you and your children in my prayers.

My son in law’s surgery appears to have been successful. The biggest problem is that he can’t pick up his baby and little guy is such a daddy’s boy. I was over last night while my daughter went to drug store for his scrips. SIL was passed out on couch. Poor little guy was going crazy cause daddy wasn’t playing with him. Doctor is afraid baby will poke him in the eye. Today we got him some goggles so we will see how that goes. Greatful that his vision will hopefully return. Happy Thanksgiving all!
