What is this about?
Dec 10th, 2009 by BohemianMoon
I put this on (my hysterically close to being defunct) “Crone on the Hill”.
I am not going to name the artist, but I would like, just like a game of word association, your gut impression -
The title of the piece is “Sunday Afternoon”.

Tough to do Moon! My word ended up being:
“entrapment”
“Losing Your Marbles”
This is so lame……but, A Serious Case of Blue Balls
Kate’s hand and Jon’s balls.
Whatwas left of Jon after everyone threw him under the bus. But, he got his balls back, and he’s not letting go.
Digital extraction for constipation. (Those marble poops they talk about)
Offerings.
Center.
Goddess.
Birth.
Pleasure.
Sorry. I just love the piece and witsh it was mine.
“We could go either way”
Kate – a mere shell of the woman she used to be
temptation
A parent playing marbles with a child.
Ticklers
Ewww, thanks Chrissy. Now I see bad things. Oh, make it stop.
Croquet with mummy and daddy.
Slow. Me. This is one powerful piece of art. Jeeminy christmas..this is what art is about.
toilet paper
I have looked at this and looked at it. I keep coming back to look at it. I love it and you can not fool me. The artist is Moon. Betcha.
He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands… I don’t know why that popped into my head.
Pat, I keep coming back to look too. I find the piece extremely erotic, and provocatively titled.
Pat and everyone that commented~
First and foremost, thanks for commenting, it is appreciated.
Yes, Moon is the artist of this piece.
This is another (forced) Sunday afternoon game of marbles – The shitty part is only one has a say in it – the adult, of course. Marbles are not the only thing being played with – both the male’s testes are involved (marbles) – there is only one winner and I am sure that you can guess who.
Every single Sunday until he turned 13 – massive hugs to him (and a lot of therapy).
It’s funny, but, I thought it was an offering to a Goddess. It’s very sexual. I did not see the other stuff until I read the comments. I knew it was yours though, Moon. You are an incredible artist and this piece is beyond amazing.
Hello Moon (and everyone), this is my first post but I have been lurking for over a year now. I don’t have a lot of time to post, but I read daily.
Moon, I loved Crone on the Hill and hope you go back and resurrect it. It can be such a great little site. You are very, very smart and your art work shows that. I can’t wait to see more of your work? Do you have more pictures?
Oh, and is this piece a part of a larger body of work?
I really wish I had artistic talent, but at least I can enjoy others. I see a lot of shows and I would love to see your work in one of them soon.
First, let me say welcome to Carting Daisies. I absolutely love your “name”. Hope you feel free to join in any time.
Moon, I’m with everyone else here in saying you are truly a gifted artist. Amazing work.
Wow, I know why most times I don’t “get” what the docent at the art museum is saying. I saw a an adult, male to female sexual offering of a private, Sunday afternoon. I loved it.

Do you hate it now that I have told you my internal dialogue of the piece?
As I said to a friend of mine last night (literally what I wrote him in an email – waving at Scott) : Art is about dialogue and very, very personal. It differs so greatly from the written word and theatre – every person’s interpretation is their own. No one has a story to go by – you make your own. It can differ greatly from the artists’ internal communication, and that my friend, is one of the most beautiful aspects of art.
One takes away what they need, or nothing at all, which in and of itself, is communication.
Carting Dasies~
I love your moniker – it creates a nice visual.
Welcome to Musings and thank you for your kind words. This piece is a part of a body of work titled “For the Love of a Child”. Right now this piece is at the RoCo in Rochester.
I have another piece for the body of work that I am close to finishing – I may post it when it is done.
Crone will be resurrected at one point I hope and I hope you come and visit. I have had a relatively challenging Fall, so hopefully after the holidays I will be posting there more.
I don’t like it anymore now. I can’t. I’m sorry. Knowing what it represents is too deeply painful to me. It is a VERY powerful piece though, and you are amazingly talented. Thanks for not letting us forget that.
Wait..staring at it some more….the invisible part of the child is holding a machette and the adut’s hand is severed. Frickin’ A. Now I like it again.
Art is so delightfully subjective. Yay!
Moon, you do excellent work. I am not a connoisseur of art, sadly, I am able to see the attention to detail that you took, in creating this piece.
Thanks for sharing this piece with us Moon and I agree with the above poster who wanted to see more of your work on the Crone blog.
It’s so interesting to see how someone’s life experiences inform that person’s interpretation of art.

I hate the way I feel when I look at it now, since I now know the turmoil the piece resulted from-the back story. But I still stand by my initial reaction of loving it. It’s a very moving piece Moon, worth repeated looks. And thought.
Bizarre
You are very talented Moon. This is very interesting.
